In the near future we will be staying at Bay Lake Tower using our Grand Floridian DVC points. We will have a one bedroom suite. Are there suggestions for the best room location etc. to request. BLT will be the first week of a split stay that will conclude at the Contemporary. Any thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

Which view did you book?

We own at GFV as well, but have stayed at Bay Lake Tower a few times. We’ve stayed theme park view and bay lake view. While looking into the park is very magical, the parking lot view that comes with it isn’t great. If you stay theme park view I would suggest requesting a higher floor. I found looking at the lake to be a safer bet though.

I don’t think it’s worth the extra points for a theme park view. Some of the north facing lake view rooms have a view of the theme park. It is not a direct view but still pretty decent. If you are a subscriber to the Touringplans website they show you views from the room.

The walkway to the CR is in the 5th floor.

If standard view, there is not much to request except possibly second floor or higher (most are first or second floor and first floor rooms can have issue of walker-by seeing in your room when curtains are open. If lake view or theme park view, best request to make is high floor. I am also one who believes theme park view is a waste of points. You need a high floor request that is granted for theme park view to actually have the good views. If that high floor request is not granted, and you get lower floor theme park view, your main view is of a parking lot, a ripoff in points.

I usually just request Highest Floor Possible - North Tower. If you're in the inner villas you'll have a great view of the lake and boat traffic going back and forth. If you're on the outside villas you will have decent view of MK. Of course outside villa would be better if Fireworks were still happening while you'll be there.

I'm not a fan of the lake view rooms because of the noise level/echo because of the shape of the building. I don't like pool view rooms at BWV for the same reason. I'd rather have a standard room at both (compared to lake/pool view).
