I suppose they will teach that in US universities next year. Because it is soooooo complicated.

I'm talking about getting the best deal combining tickets and roomrates onsite.

What do I have:
We will visit Universal for 3 days (2 nights onsite), will see Seaworld and Buschgardens.

All this in the timeframe june 1st - 15th

My questions to prepare for the phonecall (I have to pay overseas call)
- which annual pass will give you a better price for the room? Only the preferred one?
- Is there any chance of entertainment rates? I did not read anything about this recently
- I suppose one annual pass is needed per room as well as one entertainment card per room, right?
- Does the fanclub card bring any better rates?
- Does the loews card bring any better rates?
- The mastercard offer for 5-consecutive days tickets (buy 4 get 5) is not there any more, right?

I just want to know a little about all this before I call because my english is not very good, especially when talking, so I want to be prepared.

1. Annual passes are not yielding very good discounts AS OF YET. If they EVER do, the preferred one...with no restrictions is the one you would want.

2. It seems as though entertainment rates are not going to happen this year, but no one knows for sure.

3. I haven't seen anyone report getting a FAN discount.

4. The Loews card doesn't seem to get you a better rate, worse if anything. But you SHOULD sign up for it, for the other perks it offers.

5. The mastercard offer appears to be gone. There is a new deal. When you buy an adult 5 day for the price of 2, you get a free child's ticket which would have to be activated by Dec 05. If you are bringing children, it is a VERY good deal, basically buy one get one free...saving around $100 for each.

The best for room rates will either be the annual pass or AAA, the automotive club discount. Not sure if you have that in Austrailia. Of course, that could change at any point. But I am not hopeful. Try playing with dates and codes on the reservations page before you call. Others have posted that they have found a decent rate at orangevacations.com, then called 1-800-be-a-star and mentioned this. The agent then gave them the orangevacations rate, around 187/night. You could try that.

Good luck!

@d4est:
thank you for your great reply. What a pity they don't do entertainment rate. Had a great rate last year.

I will ask for AAA, I think we can do that with some Austrian card. (oh, by the way, Austria, not Australia, no kangaroos here).

Have you considered the 4 or 5-park Flex ticket. Your date range lists the 1st through the 15th, but if one of your days at the beginning or end was devoted to travel the range would fall in the 14 day expiration range. I looked into it, and so far unless super discounts come out for an AP, it is still more affordale for us to do this option. I think it costs less than a one day ticket to each park.

"What do I have:

What will you do for the rest of your days? Do you plan to do Universal ,seaworld, and Buschgardens ALL in the same 3 days?

I would suggest an orlando flex pass. They have 4 park or 5 park flex pass. These passes are good for 14 consecutive days. You can visit multiply parks on multiple days. It does not matter whether you stay on or off site to purchase these tickets. However, if you want to have front of the line access you will need to stay on site (for universal).

The four park universal studios, Islands of adventure, sea world, wet n'wild.

The five park universal studios, Islands of adventure, sea world, wet n'wild, and busch gardens.

If you go to www.ticketmania.com I believe you will get the best deal. You can get 4 theme parks, unlimited for 14 days for under 200 per person. Someone else might have another source to purchase from.

You can also purchase these at www.seaworld.com

OK, seems you are challenging me.

We will only be around for 8 nights. So the Flexticket may be the one if I do not need the AP for a good rate onsite.

The timeframe was meant as "we will be there some days first half of june.

The Flexticket is 219.50, The 2day2park (with a 3rd day free, right? does this include parc hopping?) and the seaworld/Busch combo is 201.90.

We have no kids with us.

So at the moment (if AP makes no sense, dependent on roomrates) we will:
- go to Seaworld one day (using Seaworld/Busch combo)
- go to Buschgardens one day (using the above)
- have 3days at Universal (one USF, one IOA, one "best of both", using 2d2p)
- go to Seaworld another day in the morning to run for kraken/atlantis until it fills up.

We can do this if:
- there really is a 3rd day free with the 2d2p ticket
- there is a "second day free" in Seaworld like with the 1day ticket.

SORRY...don't know why I thought Australlia...judging by your siggy, you must get that a lot!

I just saw that there is a 7 day ticket for 107 (7 consecutive days, both parks)
