Best room option for 4 adults March 2018?

We will be going on a cruise out of PC in March of 2018. Since we'll be out there, we are considering adding a stay a WDW. We tried this in November of 2016 for only 1 day and it was a miserable fail. I decided we could try again with a 3-night stay on-site, with tickets for 4 days.

We will have my adult sons with us. So we're looking at either 2 rooms or a suite with a separate room and 2 bathrooms. We really do not need the kitchen of a villa as we want to enjoy the food available in the parks and resort(s).

I would prefer a room with good proximity to either MK or Epcot with the most convenient transportation options.

Which resort(s) could this be accomplished at no more than $4000 (not including food). I'd prefer to stay closer to the $3000 range. (I did see that we can get two rooms for pretty inexpensively at one of the value resorts, but they aren't as close and only have bus transportation.) So I'm hoping someone in the know can steer me to some other package options or know which resorts have more room options that fit our needs.

Also, what is the cost of adding dining plans? I keep getting a "someone ate the page" on the wdw site.

Thanks so much!

As an option that may or may not work: Theoretically, a BLT (Contemporary resort) 1 bedroom villa would get you 2 full bathrooms, and the boys wouldn't have to share a bed as there is a pull out chair and pull out couch in the living room.
Sure, there is a kitchen, but that's mostly a place for snacks and favorite beverages ;)

Pricing depends on when in March. With 2018 Easter being April 1, the last week of March 2018 will be peak pricing and peak crowds.

Current David's DVC room rental rates for a weekday BLT Lake view villa at the beginning of March:
1 Bedroom 123 $1845
2 Bedroom 156 $2160 (a 1 bedroom plus a separate 2 queen bedroom with a total of 3 bathrooms)

Note: other DVC 1BR villas only have 1 bathroom (except kidani also has 2) so you would be wanting 2BR at other resorts.

I don't think 2018 dining plans have been announced, so you would have to look at 2017 and add a buffer.
