Ocean view on deck 2 or 7?

Deck 7 is right at front corner with slanting port hole but seems different shape amd bigger?

My favorites are 9000 or 9500. LOVE those cabins.

(Your subject asked for "best cabin"...)

Yes. :) Unlike some other lines that get creative with their numbering, the first digit of a 4-digit cabin or the first two of a 5-digit cabin is the deck number.
Thanks. Are the slanting walls a problem?

Had some photos and this description
"the room itself seemed alittle larger then most staterooms--there was quite a bit of space on each side of the bed--we used the space to store our luggage since we didnt unpack everything and still had alot of room

the thing we werent crazy about was the sitting area while the couch was in alittle alcove as was the window made the room seem sort of dark--

the window was on a slant also which made it hard to look out of--you had to duck under the window if that makes sense also you couldnt look out the window while sitting on the couch--you had to be right up in the window

deck 7 on the other hand was a great location--close to everything and not far from the elevators-- so the room itself is fine enough room we didnt feel cramped at all it does sleep 4--easy to get around its just the window was a small issue for us

oh it does have the slanted walls and angles in all in it was a fine room with great location"

I'd be up for trying it, but it looks a little awkward?

personally, i don't like those slanting portholes..
i like to see the water when looking out the window from anywhere in the room..
it's just not the same with a slanting porthole..
that would be a dealbreaker for me..
for others, they like the extra room, and the slant doesn't bother them..

OP;

What is the make up of your traveling party that will be in said cabin?

Are we talking two adults in partnership? Are we talking family of 3 or 4?

For a family, I lean to not forward corner OV w/o a curtain , etc.

And for for standard OV w/curtain and whatnot.

Plus that far forward in any seas can be noticeable.

My philosophy is always book the most midship cat you can handle. IMO.

Smooth seas to all.

And on the flip side, there are people who actually like the motion of being as far forward as possible and find midship with its lack of motion boring - might as well be at a land-based resort. ;)

Until they encounter a force 8 or above in a forward cabin.

Then they will never sail forward again. IMO.

If you thrive on that sort of thing, more power to you.

But isn't sailing wonderful with all the choices available.

We can all pick our cabins if desired. And berths we're comfortable with.

Careful with GTY OV in hurricane season IMO.

Came pretty darn close during a pop-up in the Med this summer - winds in excess of 45mph.

LOVED IT!

But yep - we can all choose what suits us best. I was just pointing out that while "as midship as you can get" might be best for you, it is not best for everyone. :)

Vanilla and chocolate! :)
