best room locatiom at akl

Hi Everyone,
we are eagerly awaiting our next trip in two wks. Unfortunately we could only get ap rates for the last five days of our vacation. The first five dys we will be staying at POR for the first time and thanks to these boards we requested a great location. I can't seem to find anything on AKL. We can only afford a standard room, but want it to be in a convienient location (close to food, pool transportation)> Can you please advise on the best room to request. Thanks

Hi DVL! As for being close to the pool/food, the best rooms will be in the Zebra Trail -- close to the Lobby. Most of the rooms on this trail are Savanna or Pool views though. The Giraffe Trail is your best bet for standard view rooms. Remember, too, that even though you're booking standard view it never hurts to smile sweetly at check-in and ask if a room upgrade is possible. Usually during the "low season" they have extra Savanna rooms! It worked for me in May! Good Luck!

please keep in mind that the resorts are pretty much fully booked for your dates, however, so an upgrade is unlikely...request Giraffe Trail to be closer to pool, Mara, etc. good luck~
