Best room for Dolphin

Okay...we have settled on the Dolphin and have a few questions....the threads are like 120 pages long w/ lots of non S/D stuff and I have wrapping to do so please help a S/D newbie!!!!

1. Best room location (hoping to see Epcot)??

2. What are the chances of getting upgrade and how to you go about doing it???

3. Booked a government rate thru DU..also a Starwood preferred..is it better to book by myself in order to get upgraded..I can't find my starwood number on my ressie. Who do I contact about asking for upgrade...when do I do it and how???

4. Any other tips/advice???...thanks!

If you want an Epcot view you will need to be in the East Wing and/or facing east. If you have accumulated Starwood points, you have a much better chance of getting an upgrade. If you didn't give your Starwood number when you booked the room, you will need to call the Starwood 800 number and have it added to your reservation. You also might want to go through DU about getting upgrades and your SPG number on your reservation, or at least ask them what the best way is to get an upgrade. DU is so good about getting PS's, etc., they might be able to help in other ways.
