This is my first time going to WDW. I'm going with three friends of mine, all in our 20's and we're wondering which is the best building to stay in at Pop. All we are certain on is that we don't want a parking lot view. Anything that you liked or didn't would be helpful..Thanx

The 60's is the premiere building but maybe the 50's it looked really nice and ask for a lake view. We stayed in the 80's and it was okay, it was a long walk at the end of a long day. We really liked the feel of the 50's.

We stayed in the 70's building with the Big Wheel, and we thought it was an ideal location. We were just a minute or two from the food court and the buses. While our room did "technically" have a view of the parking lot, there was a lovely courtyard. I never noticed the parking lot.

Pool view in the 60s section. Without a doubt the best section and the best view overlooking the hippie dippie pool.

Have fun and be groovy baby.

I'm requesting the 70's section when I go. And I'm doing my 70's dance today thanks to my counter :cool1: whoo hoo! -Steph

I was told the 50's, so I called back and asked to put in a special request for this and bldg C/3 to get a good view of the fireworks. :cool1:

My friends and I, also in our 20s, were at POP in January. We never requested a certain room but we lucked out. We were in the 50's building, on the second floor, second to last room overlooking the Bowling Pool. It was really quiet there (it was cold so there wasn't a whole lot of swimming going on). It was a really quick walk to the Hippy Dippy pool, the Food Court, Lobby, and busses.

Have fun!

I've stayed at Pop 3 times. the first was the 70's facing the foosball, the second 70's facing the lake and the third the 60's facing the lake. All in all, I like the 70's facing the lake--very quiet and peaceful, but a very short walk to the main building.

I do not thing that the extra $10/night was worth it for the 60's. I did like being able see (barely) Illuminations from my room, but I think a 50's lake view might get the same view.

You can call or fax a room request a few days before your arrival. We stayed in the 70's building with a lake view. It was a great location. :cool1:

On our honeymoon in November we were upgraded to a 50s waterview corner room in the C/4 building i think, We just walked out of our room and around the corner and had an excellent view of the fireworks!

I personally prefer the 50's section. It is very close to the main building. I have stayed in the building facing the lake(The tramp building) and just got back from corner room with a view of the pool in the lady building. Both were great, but I always like having a corner room. All views are the same price. All rooms in the 60's building are considered preferred rooms and are $10 more a night. If you want a particular view/building, I would remind them upon check in.

Did they add "Lake View" as a category for rooms? When we went last year (about a month after it opened) I asked for a room with a view of the lake, and the CM said "there is no such thing" and I was like, well the Pop sits on a Lake (hour glass lake I think) blah blah blah... and all she kept says was "there is no lake."

We were in the 90's section and hated it. Just to darned far away from the "happenings". It wasn't even worth walking back to the food court in the afternoons to refill our mugs because it was so far away from the Computer Pool. princess: pirate: :earboy2:

You may have been talking to a CM at CRO. Many of them do not work on the property and may have only seen pictures of the resorts. If a "lake view" room doesn't show up on the computer screen, she may not even realize that Pop has a lake.

Sorry if this has been asked already, but why are the rooms in the 60s building considered "preferred?" I thought the 50s building was the better location?
