We'll be going down to WDW on the 22nd for our honeymoon, and we're both ridiculously excited. But I'm trying to think of some good romantic spots to go to, or some way to give my bride a few little goofy surprises (no pun intended  ). Anybody have any suggestions? Good restaurants in the area with a more romantic atmosphere?

Here are a couple of links that list some good ideas. I especially recommend an Illuminations cruise.
Thanks for the links. I'd looked at some of this before, but my brain has been so scrambled with planning out the wedding that I've apparently missed some things. I think I've found a great gift basket from the Disney florist, it has the bride & groom ears we want and champaign, cheese, etc., now I just need to see if it's possible to arrange it being in our room when we get there. I'd have it delivered after we arrive, but I'm not entirely sure how long it'll take for us to get our luggage, rental car, and get to the room, so it'd be hard to time that.

The cruise might be possible, but some of those things depend on how much extra spending money we get at the wedding. :)

But there are a lot of great ideas here. I haven't been to WDW since I was 15, which was over half my life ago, so the more stuff I read and hear about for this, the more excited I get.

FYI - things like the Illuminations Cruises book up way in advance. You may get lucky and get a cancellation, but most likely you'll have a hard time getting one this close to the date.

One of our favorite things to do is walk around the Boardwalk at night. We'll often walk over to Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club, grab some ice cream and sit on one of the swings on the beach there. It can be terribly romantic, and if you time it right, you get a glimpse of Illuminations from the beach as well.

Enjoy your honeymoon, and early congratulations on your wedding!

That might be a good option too. My fiancee loves being near the water. We joke that she was a mermaid in a past life. :)

Having been a looong time since I went to WDW, I have to ask the dumb question: Is there a fee for going into one of the resort areas if I'm not staying in it?

Yes, you can go to the other resorts for free, you just can't use their pools.

We will be arriving the day before you for our Honeymoon! When are you getting married?

The wedding is the 20th, but we then have a planned out second reception the day after that to celebrate with all our friends who couldn't come to the wedding itself for various reasons. Otherwise we'd be getting down there on the 21st.

We are getting married on the Friday (19th) because it was cheaper and there was already a wedding on that saturday. And then we are having another "reception" I guess you could call it on that saturday to open gifts and play games and then we fly out at 9am on Sunday.. Add in the Rehersal on Thursday and we are going to be pooped by the time sunday rolls around. LOL Good luck on your wedding and I hope you have a wonderful and magical Honeymoon!

We were lucky to get the place we did, practically every place we checked was booked for the day we wanted, and then we found this place that is just gorgeous, has some of the best food I've ever had, and is within our budget. The only big problem now is I just checked and we have possible rain in the forecast for the whole weekend here, and since this is supposed to be an outdoor ceremony, that could be an issue. :( But the weather forecast fluctuates a lot, so I'm hoping the rain passes us, or at the very least lets up for during the event.

Our second reception is at a rennaisance fair, which is something else me and my bride-to-be enjoy a lot, so we have a lot to look forward to in the next two weeks. The only thing I wish is that we were going to be down at WDW longer, I feel like we're going to miss a lot of things, but that's what return trips are for. We've already discussed once we have kids that we'll want to take them down too in the future. :)

I totally agree with this suggestion! This is what DF and I used to do when we started dating, and we got engaged at Sea Breeze Point which is the pavillion between YBC and BW. :)

Have a great trip and congrats!

I definitely plan to go there at least one of the nights, it sounds really great.

I know it's kinda silly, but does any body know if there are places that do Karaoke at or near Disney? My fiancee loves to sing, so that might be something I could take her to.

I don't know of a karaoke place, but Jellyrolls is a piano bar where everyone ends up singing along to all the songs from their seats at the tables (wide range of music - included Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, Sitting on the dosck of the bay, loads of blues stuff but other quirky hits too)

Was a lot of fun!

Jellyrolls is on the Boardwalk. There's an admission fee to get in - about $10 I think, but I thought it was well worth it for a really good evening's entertainment!

Celebration Town Tavern in Celebration usually has karaoke nights on Fridays. It starts at 10pm. It's usually a really fun atmosphere and it's not too far from Disney property. Plus I just love Celebration in the evening. It's cute and it's nice to just walk around the lakes there.

I think a lot of places in Disney can be romantic. My fiance and I stayed at Wilderness Lodge a few months ago. We spent the late evenings out on the beach under the stars. It's quiet and romantic :)
