IYO, what is the best place for a romantic dinner in the World? i would particularly like one with a view of fireworks but not a restaurant in one of the parks.

Someplace not on the dining plan:

1. Victoria & Alberts
2. bluezoo
3. Bistro de Paris

OP, what type of foods do you prefer? What are your most important qualities in a romantic meal? WDW has several wonderful options for romantic meals, but we may be able pin-point choices for you based on your preferences.

Someplace not on the dining plan:

1. Victoria & Alberts
2. bluezoo
3. Bistro de Paris

This may have been mentioned elsewhere, but bluezoo discounted dining certificates are now offered on Restaurant.com. With the 80% off promo code SUMMER, you can get a $25 gc (reg. cost is $10) for only $2.

Where is Bluezoo located? DH and I like all types of food, so cuisine type doesn't matter. We would really like a place that has a view of the fireworks, preferably MK, but we are open. I was thinking California Grill at the Contemporary since it overlooks the MK. We would also like to eat at one of the monorail resort restaurants since we are planning on touring those resorts without DD4. :)

I'll tell you this. you want romantic and view of fireworks
.... Cal Gril is NOT it.
Anytime before fireworks that place is loud with excited children running around waiting for them.

My suggestion...look at Narcossee at GF.
Possibly Big River (not really romantic but if you get an outside table you can see the fireworks.)

If your forget the fireworks and just want best romantic, definately Jiko.

We ate at Narcoossee's for our anniversary last month. It was wonderful! We were treated very well and the food was excellent. We had a window table, but did not stay until the fireworks. It is such a pretty setting. You will read different reviews for it, but for us on that night, it was the best!

I would say Narcooses too. We went there last month for our anniversary. Our experience was terrible so I doubt we would go back for a long time. If you dont get a window seat for the fireworks like we didnt you could go out on the deck I guess, I just strained my cancer neck to try and see them. I did a little review on the dining review thread. Also its pretty expensive if you are not using 2 credits on the dining plan.

Best of luck deciding.

The wine room at the Cali Grill is very romantic and much more quiet than the main dining room. The view of Epcot in the background is breathtaking as well as the lake. Here is a photo from our dinner there last month, it was sooo romantic and amazing.

Where is the wine room in the California grill restaurant , do you request it on your reservation and is their an extra fee to be seated their... I agree the dining room at Cali can get very load and not very romantic at all. Thanks

The Wine Room can get loud too--it's not exclusively for adults and you may very well find kids in there. It is, however, isolated a bit from the open kitchen area, making it more quiet in that respect. Also--if the restaurant isn't particulary busy, it won't be open. Or if there is a private party--they often rent out that entire room. No extra fee to be seated there--just ask when you check in.

Narcoossee's isn't very romantic either--high ceilings, wood floors, lots of kids.

Another vote for Nacroossee's here too. We have been to all the Signature restaurants and although Cali Grill is one of our favorites, Nacroossee's is much quieter with a more romantic feel. I love walking out onto the porch deck and viewing the fireworks from there. Its right on the water with a fantastic view. The food is great and the service has been top notch every visit. :thumbsup2

Bluezoo at the Dolphin is a fish/seafood restaurant at the Dolphin that is truly upscale, not Disney's version of upscale. Our last 2 visits to Narcoosees have had mediocre food combined with loud atmosphere.

#1 by far V&A
#2 Il Mulino
#3 Bistro
Off Campus entirely La Boheme is outrageously romantic, honorable mention to Tchoup Chop.
Unlikely I would consider a 1TS or even a 2TS "romantic" due to the crowd.

Bistro has more kids in it than it used to. It was fairly noisy the night we were there.

Also, Uncle R is right. We've been in the CG wine room when all of the other tables were pushed together for large and loud family parties. The CG wine room is no guarantee of quiet.

V&A is the only place at WDW guaranteed to be quiet and romantic.

We love Il Mulino but it was a circus the night we were there. Not romantic at all. Same for Citrico's -- very, very noisy.

The other Swan/Dolphin places can be nice -- but only if conventioneers aren't living it up with gallons of wine and beer.

Jiko can be nice if you go late. Artist Point late is also nice in the romance category -- too bad most of the food has declined to the point we're not bothering with it anymore.

We've found romance at Grand Floridian Cafe for dinner on occasion, if we're there quite late.

Narcoosee's can be okay -- but only late.

Is there a theme here? Yes, V&A always quiet and romantic. Romance at other restaurants is hit or miss -- but more likely if you go late -- at least after 8:30 p.m. And, at CG -- after the fireworks are over.

Victoria and Alberts is very romantic but pretty expensive. Also, Chefs de France has a nice atmosphere and the waitors/waitresses are really nice! I mean, if you work at disney you HAVE to be nice of course! I would go with v&a.

Having eaten at Victoria & Alberts, Narcoossee's & California Grill, I'd say that the most romantic would be V&A's. If you do not want to dine at V&A's due to the cost, Narcoossee's would be an excellent choice as well. The service and food are fantastic there. I don't remember CG being loud when we ate there, but we did have a later dining time & the food was good. But, my first 2 choices would be V&A or Narcoossee's.

I was going to suggest Chef De France but as for one not in the parks with fireworks i have only eaten as a couple at Ohana's and it is really nice but too many kids so it is not that romantic depending on the time.

Other than that with fireworks i guess California Grill i would expect.

A lot has to due to the time/season as mentioned earlier and I had forgotten my automatic aversion to conventioneers:dance3: and most groups. However we have had memorably romantic evenings when a wedding party or just the bride and groom were in attendance at any given restaurant.
We have been starting Wednesday day trips when possible to avoid the rowdier weekend crowds.
You may try mentioning when checking in your preference for as secluded and quiet a spot as possible.WD dining is some of the most accommodating you'll find if you are specific and a smile goes very far.

Both CG and Narcoosees are quiter after wishes. We book an ADR for about 15 to 20 mins after. Check in 10 mins before the scheduled time for wishes and watch with a glass of champagne in hand on the terrace's. Best to let them know you are not checking in early for an earlier reservation time. Very romantic when I went with DH. :cloud9:

Enjoy whatever you decide:goodvibes
