Hey all,

My wife and I just had a baby a few months ago. We are locals looking to make our first trip up to the Magic Kingdom with our new addition to take some photos.

While we were up there we thought about hitting up a couple of attractions.

Do any of you have any recommendations for the best attractions to do with a baby? Obviously you cant go on many of them but didn't know if someone had a noteworthy experience in this situation.

Thanks!

You can carry a baby on any attraction without a height restriction.

Dumbo, Tea Cups (don't spin the cup), Pooh, Small World, Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Peoplemover ... even Pirates and HM. Some depend more on the temperament of the baby.

You can go on most of them...anything without a height requirement.

Small world, Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo, and the Magic Carpets immediately come to mind. Little Mermaid would probably be OK...a baby that age is unlikely to be frightened by Ursula. The baby won't "get" Jungle Cruise, but would probably enjoy the ride. Same with the Peoplemover. There's also a lot of character meets. It would be cute to get your baby's picture with Mickey and a princess or 2.

My wife and I took our 5 month old to WDW (and LEGOLAND) in March. (also had son - 4yo).

Mostly we kept her off rides for various reasons (usually naps).

Here is a sample of things we took her on.

DHS:
TSMM - my wife had her in a carrier, but she didn't like it - too much jerky movement and when you get air blown in your face .. she didn't like that.

Epcot
Spaceship Earth - was okay with it, but REALLY didn't like it when the ride stopped and the VERY loud announcement startled her.
Living with Land - she enjoyed the boat ride.
The Seas with Nemo - Was okay
Turtle Talk With Crush - she was fascinated by the big turtle on the screen. Utterly transfixed!

MK
Carousel of Progress - was fine.
Peter Pan - was okay .. but again .. the darkness, and sudden loud noises - just too much stimulation.
Carousel - okay!
Country Bears Jamboree - Loved it.

What we learned towards the end of the trip:
Kid-sized over-the-ear headphones were SUPER helpful. We originally brought them in case we stayed for fireworks (we didn't) but it helped her nap in the stroller and we probably should have put them on her on some of the louder rides (you don't realize how loud they are until you are with a baby). You also don't realize how loud just the outside is too (screams from rides, announcements, music, etc.).

Echoing what everyone has said, there are few attractions you can't take a baby on. When DS was 3 months, we took him to WDW and it was no problem getting him on most things. We did have two issues:

Peter Pan's Flight: Was a little nerve wracking holding the baby with the movements of the ship. I wouldn't recommend taking a baby on PPF.
Astro Orbiters: It's hard enough getting in and out of this ride. It's nearly impossible with a baby without assistance. That, and it's just hot up there.

We took our 7 week old in August 2015. We took him on everything we rode that didn't have a height requirement. He was fine on everything either sleeping or looking around. We even took the car seat on a few rides because he was sleeping when we got in line.

As others have mentioned you can bring the baby on anything without a height requirement which is a TON of stuff. In almost a week we didn't even do everything our DD could do across the 4 parks when we brought her the first time.

Lots of babies LOVE It's a Small World. My 1yo was obsessed but I also rode it at Disneyland with my friend's 8 week old and it was so cute to see her reaction at even that small! She brought her 8 week old on a ton of stuff with us.
