Hi All! I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for best restaurants to share a meal between two adults? Which restaurants seem to have the most plentiful portions? We are looking to dine at some table service restaurants but looking to do it in a more economical way this time around. Lastly, are restaurants pretty ok with sharing or is it frowned upon? I already know there’s no sharing at buffets and at Via Napoli. Any others that don’t let you? Thank you!

Are you on the dining plan? If not, you can share at Via Napoli.

I find the portions at Spice Road Table to be quite large.

As long as it's not a buffet, dinner show, AYCTE restaurant or AYCTE entree (like the skillet at WCC), you should be fine.

Sharing is not frowned upon at non buffet TS or CS...or at least I don't care if it is.
My family has shared many meals at WDW. We often split 1 appetizer and 1 entree when it is just 2 adults. When my boys were younger, we shared a couple of each.
My wife and I always split the fried chicken at 50s PT. They give you 4 full pieces...too much for us. We much prefer to share, and eat light at meals. That way we get the advantage of a reservation at TS, a nice quiet atmosphere, being waited on, and save money. Then, we have room for a Mickey Premium Bar.

Ok so even if we go for dining plan, if we are not hungry enough for two full entrees at the time of the meal, we can share a credit without it looking “bad”? Thanks so much for all the answers!

Yes, as long as it is not AYCTE or Buffet. We did this at many restaurants, including Jiko and other signature. We were on the DxDP, and didn’t need three Apps, Entrees and desserts for our table.

Sharing is not frowned upon. Disney really is not like that.

When my wife & I are not too hungry, we often share a single entree and a salad.

For better or worse, menus at Disney change frequently and some dishes that are/were available last month/year, may not be on the menu tomorrow or next month - so being specific may not be as useful as you might like.

Anyway, Disney meals are mostly larger portions.

I'd select the restaurants that appeal to you and then speak with your Waiter/Server to help determine which portions are larger and/or better to be shared.

In general:
Cheese Boards & Charcuterie Boards are typically substantial appetizers that lend to sharing.

Fried Calamari is typically too large to be enjoyed alone.

Plates of mounded pasta are way too many carbs for any human being to be eating alone.

Specific Places:
Marrakesh has large portions.

Sanaa also has food that is easily shared.

50's Prime Time Sampler Plate is too much for one person. Add some onions rings and you have dinner for two.

The rack of ribs at Polite Pig is shareable. It comes with an order of cole slaw and one side . If you need more you can order an additional side.
We also shared the 50s PT sampler mentioned above along with a salad.

Restaurants where you order from a menu are fine with sharing whether you are paying out of pocket or using dining credits. The only firm exception is Via Napoli which will not let you use one credit to feed two or more people on the dining plan, but even there, if you are paying out of pocket you can share.

You cannot share and everyone will be charged at buffets (e.g. Crystal Palace, Tusker House), all you care to eat meals (e.g. 'Ohana, Garden Grill), dinner shows (e.g. Hoop De Doo, Spirit of Aloha Luau, Mickey's Backyard Barbecue), fixed price venues (e.g. CRT, Akershus), dining packages (e.g. Fantasmic!, ROL, Candlelight Processional), special event dining (e.g. dessert parties, Dine with an Imagineer, Food & Wine events), and anyone who orders the family platter (e.g. on the Liberty Tree Tavern lunch menu and at Whispering Canyon Cafe).

DW and I shared a meal at Yak and Yeti a few weeks ago. We got the "shareable" lettuce wraps and a side of the house fried rice. The house fried rice was excellent and probably would have been plenty of food without the lettuce wraps. We finished the wraps but not all of the fried rice.

As the above poster mentioned, Yak and Yeti has sharable sized appetizers as well as some of the entrees (e.g. lo mein).

We tend more toward QS, and for that some of the places with easily sharable portion sizes include Pecos Bills, Blaze, the half rotisserie chicken at Cosmic Ray's, and Tangierine Cafe.
