Best restaurants outside the resort

Our last trip in 2018 we discovered Tiffy's Family Restaurant. It's on West Katella. Great home style food and ice cream. You can see the backside of California Adventure from the parking lot.

The family is really looking forward to eating there again when we go in May... well hopefully. In looking up the address, Yelp is saying that it is now closed. They don't have an official website, can anyone confirm?

They are closed for remodeling. Not sure when they'll be finished.

There's a BOGO coupon for Tiffy's in both the Entertainment Book as well as the Entertainment App. They were selling books for $5 shipped over the weekend -- books include a free subscription to the app, so you get two BOGO coupons.

Tiffy's has been around forever... useless trivia -- in the 1990s, Anaheim/Disneyland unveiled a future resort map that showed the restaurant's location would be seized for resort expansion. They were an integral part of the group that fought like heck against the plan...

Kidd’s is one food poisoning lawsuit away from bankruptcy

There's nothing to suggest that Captain Kidd's practices unsanitary/poor hygienic conditions; its County health reports are better than many of its peers. Ultimately, Kidd's provides filling meals for about the price of a corn dog at Disneyland, within easy walking distance. You get what you pay for -- it's cheap food sold at cheap prices. There's thousands of restaurants around the country serving up similar grub; I wouldn't eat there, but I understand why others do.

Oops! The place is being bulldozed as I speak. So I guess the quarantine did them in. Not sure what will replace it, but for sure the brick structure would have looked out of place next to the new hotel next door.

Aww, that breaks my heart a little -- Tiffy's was the place my high school marching band would always get breakfast before our performances in the Disneyland parades. Time marches on, I suppose.

Manhattan Giant Pizza.

What it lacks in quality it makes up in quantity.

--. Note. Don't order if your room has 28" doors. Unless you want to eat in the lobby.

+1 for Fire and Ice.
Another vote too - nice place to kick back and relax; people watch and chill. Will be god with JW Marriott opening up next door along with other nearby hotels to increase foot traffic into the gardenwalk.

We just discovered the 5th at the Grand Legacy and really enjoyed it there! Rooftop bar with views of the DLR!

My absolute favorite arrival day lunch is at Sabrosada - Burritos the size of your face that are super affordable. We typically fly into LAX and get to Anaheim around lunch. While we wait for our hotel room, we'll walk here and get a big lunch to hold us over the rest of the day.

Well, not sure if you even went on your trip with all the Covid stuff that happened since your post. Anyways, I love Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner which is outside Knott's Berry Farm (you don't need admission, it is outside the park). LOVE the fried chicken dinner there, and reasonable priced for a lot of food.
