Anyone make any suggestions for a good place for dinner (kid friendly, good food...but otherwise anything goes) nearby to the Nick hotel. I know there's TONS of chain restaurants, and we're considering Joe's Crab Shack, but I'm looking for any other suggestions to weigh before we make a decision!

Thanks!

Sure, Kobe Japanese Steakhouse is always fun to take the kids to. They cook infront of you, make volcanos out of onions, light a big fire on the habachi, etc. I believe its on the Palm Parkway, not far from the Nick Hotel at all. Also, Bahama Breeze is really good. Joe's Crab Shack isnt bad.

What kinds of restaurants were you thinking?

Bahama Breeze is not too far away & we always enjoy it there. Sometimed it is best to ring ahead so you don't have to wait too long.

If you continue south on S. Int'l, and then right on 192, you'll see Celebration Blvd on your left. Follow that about 1 mile into town, and you'll find several non-chain restaurants including Market Cafe (great upscale diner) D'Antonios italian, Seiko japanese, Columbia cuban, and the Tavern (seafood). Plus some great boutique shopping - worth a trip, and not far from the Nick.

We're not picky eaters, and neither are the kids. So anything and everything family friendly is good.

The suggestions so far are making me lean toward Bahama Breeze.

Keep in mind, this dinner is going to be on our day of arrival....after I've put in 20 hours behind the wheel and probably gotten about 4 hours sleep (hopefully) leading up to dinner. Close and easy navigation is important...not as important as the quality of the food, but close.

Then I would definitely go with Bahama Breeze or Kobe. You'll definitely want to call ahead with Bahama Breeze though! (407) 938-9010

This is how close the two are, you could walk, it would probably be faster.

I think that the Bennigan's on SR 535 is probably the closest restaurant - maybe a mile or so from the Nick hotel, near the Vistana Resort. Typical bar and grille food. Further up the road on the right are a Landry's Seafood (not bad food, generous portions), a steakhouse (can't remember which chain), and the Bahama Breeze (which is good, too). A lot of others have recommended Bahama Breeze - and we like it, too - but you should be prepared for waiting for a table and having a leisurely meal if you go. They tend to take the Caribbean Island pace to heart, which is nice if you just want to relax during the meal, but if you're tired and hungry it might not be the best place to go. There are more chain restaurants - Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Jungle Jim's, a Perkin's Family Restaurant, Joe's Crab Shack, Romano's, and a bunch of others - further along SR 535 after the I-4 overpass.

Jungle Jim's is gone (thankfully - it got really bad toward the end). One you missed in that area is Giordano's - great Italian and pizzas. Also north of the I4 overpass across from Macaroni Grill, Chili's & Joes Crab Shack. Before that is Pizzeria Uno, Chevy's, TGI Fridays In the same plaza as Giordano's (my choice - it the BEST) is a Mexican place (not a fan, can't say how it is) and Steak & Shake. You won't go hungry.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I think, as of right now, we're going to pencil in Bahama Breeze. We'll call ahead, see what the wait time is, and head there if it's not too bad (on a Friday night....we'll see). If the wait IS very long, I'll bring along all the other great suggestions and we'll decide from there.

Again, thanks for all the help!

The Nick is across from the Marriott World Center, correct? If so, there is a very good Japanese steakhouse there and it's usually not that crowded if you go early enough. My kids love going there, even when we don't stay at the World Center.
