Best restaurants for the very young

Our ADR window opens up in a few weeks (trip in October), and I'm still undecided about which restaurants we should pick. The kids will be 14 months (boy) and 5 years (girl), and it will be both their first times to WDW.

Because of the baby, I'd like to avoid any restaurants that are too chaotic - I think he'd do best with a chance to enjoy some relative calm, especially since meals are often at a time when he's starting to get tired. He's a very crabby baby when he gets tired....even though he's super easygoing the rest of the time.

We will be paying OOP for maximum flexibility, and are only looking to book a few ADRs. Trying to keep TS meals fun, rather than imposed upon the kids. We'd also like to stay in the parks, or at the EP area resorts for meals (we'll be staying at YC), to minimize travel time with possibly cranky/hungry kids.

We know we want to do dinner at Garden Grill (earliest seating), but other than that, I'm not sure. Which restaurants have you had good experiences with, especially with infants/young toddlers? QS suggestions are also more than welcome!

We have been doing TS meals with our little ones since the beginning of our disney trips, for us it was the way to go! We try to do breakfast in the Parks and dinner someplace else, I could never commit to being in the park till dinner. The most relaxing TS character meals have been askerhaus in Epcot, Cinderella royal table in MK, sci fi was a great Hollywood studio experience, you may even get the little to fall asleep ( not a character Meal) outside the parks I'd say cape may on the boardwalk, Ohana breakfast and dinner! (Dinner not character either) some places are more chaotic like chef mickey, tusker house and 1900 but still enjoyable because the kids are mesmerized and we could get them to eat while waiting! Now we go in kidless trips and I swear it's so we can enjoy the adult restaurants but we still do CRT each time!

What about Crystal Palace in MK? They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner with Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore. My little ones just loved it!

Tonys town square is not chaotic and if you choose to eat during parade time there's a good chance you may be able to see it from your table.

My kids also enjoyed LTT this past trip. Dining rooms are divided up into small rooms so it wasn't overwhelming.

Garden Grille's earliest seating is my favorite meal in all the parks!

My 10 month old did like Crystal Palace in MK with Pooh and Friends.

If you're going for a later meal when baby might fall asleep, the Mexico restaurant is dark (with a volcano)!

I know some people hate it but we've always had good luck at Yak and Yeti at AK. I don't know if we've gone at off times or what, but it's always seemed plenty low key.

I try as hard as possible to not eat at HS so can't help with that!

On our first trip, years ago, my kids (ages 6 and 3 at the time) LOVED the Coral Reel restaurant in Epcot. They loved eating by the big fish tank and it was quiet and relaxing for us. It was a nice meal.

With a 5 year old little girl I'd definitely do a princess meal Akershus in Epcot and Cinderella's Table in MK are the big ones. Personally unless you really want to eat in the castle (which is neat but I thought it was very loud, when we were there you could barely hear the princess introductions/wishing star instructions/ect) I'd do Akershus. Mainly the same princesses at both but Akershus was cheaper (and we thought the food was better...and bigger servings, my kids didn't care for the CRT breakfast and they were still hungry when we left, for the price they should have been stuffed enough to want a late lunch).

Hollywood & Vine was kind of loud but there were lots of young kids, I think my girls at 7 and 9 were among the oldest kids there. I think that would be a fun one if your kids like any of the Disney Jr. characters. They had Handy Manny, Jake, Doc McStuffins, and Sofia the first.

We usually have at least one lunch/dinner at Via Napoli in Epcot. They have good pasta and pizza options for the younger ones. It's was always one of my kids favorites!

In MK, we usually eat at Peco's Bill's in Frontierland. It's QS, but has a lot of different options and good with little ones.

AK, Tusker house is a good TS and Pizzafari is good for QS. We usually have breakfast at Tusker house and then either Pizzarfari for lunch/dinner or we will split something from Flametree BBQ.
