My dh is a strict Atkins man! I am planning our ADR's and want to choose places where he will be able to indulge and feel satisfied. We have been to Akerhus which we plan to go back to since they have plenty of cheese(we all love cheese in our family). However, I would like more specific info on CRT and Ohana's . Are they able to substitue a carb side dish for salad or a veggie? Have any low carbers had good experiences dining here? Please share your stories!! Thanks:rotfl:

I think WDW is pretty accommodating, check out the menus at allearsnet.com

My dh is an Atkins guy too. He is more maintenance than loosing at this point, so he is o.k. with bbq sauce or beef and broccoli type dishes. These are the restaurants I picked that i know he will enjoy.

Crystal Palace-always something on a buffet
Chef Mickey dinner
Ohana dinner
Whispering Canyon Cafe-skillet full of meat
Biergarten
Liberty Tree Tavern
Ohanna breakfast
Kona Cafe

Like the other post said check out the menus. Most table service will probably have either steak or chicken. I picked buffets so he can have a variety of meats and also I have a 9 year old that the choices on the kids menu would get old real fast for him. I'm sure your dh will find lots of choices.

Atkins won't be hard to follow in WDW. There are sooooo many choices. Probably the hardest part(other than desserts)is avoiding breads.

As a vegetarian I just called ahead as a precaution then spoke to the host once I got to the restaurant. Mostly I was told to just talk to my server, who was almost always very helpful. I'm sure they've dealt with alllll kinds of diets before, so I'm sure they will be very helpful to you as they were to me!

The last time we were at Disney DH and I were still in induction mindset (although we were quite a bit past the first 2 weeks). We had little to no problem with dinners at Disney, we just requested the side item changes and sauces left off. I would avoid breakfast ADRs since he will only have eggs and bacon/sausage. Everything else consists of muffins, cereals, breads, pancakes, etc. Make sure he brings along carb friendly snacks as there are very few snack options from the carts and kiosks (honestly I can't remember any). What phase of Atkins is he in? We are now in maintence mode and don't worry quite so much about some of the hidden carbs in sauces (unless it is the big obvious ones that would blow our daily counts out the roof), and we eat a lot of fresh fruits for snacks, but we still avoid a lot of the good stuff around the parks.
