We have a family trip this May and there will be 14 total (10 adults and 4 kids). We will be eating breakfast in our Villas and we will be eating dinners on property at sit down restaurants.

When we go out for dinner we will want to sit together and not be split up. What are the best restaurants to eat at that accomidate large groups?

Right now we are thinking 1 dinner at the Hoop Dee Doo. We really like 1900 park fare's dinner buffet (not sure about a table for 14 though).

I know I will need to make ressies through group dining. I was hoping to get some meal ideas figured out before I call group dining.

I just made arrangements through group for 14 of us. I was told not to expect to be seated together at all of our choices except O'Hana. They will do the best to keep us close by. I have P.S.'s at O'Hana, 50's Prime Time, Cindy's Castle, Cape May, Italy. That is it so far. Still need two more.

Alfredo's has a second dining room which is only used when they are very crowded to for large groups. I was there last month with a group of 21 for a late lunch and we had the room to ourselves. They set it as two large tables; they could easily set it for 14.

Also Spoodles has a semi-private dining area which can seat about 20.

I can't think of many places that could seat fourteen at one table. Maybe the Biergarten at Epcot.

We had a party of 10 and sat together in all restaurants except Garden Grill (character lunch at Epcot). We ate at Citrico's and Narcoosee's (GF), California Grill (CR), and Chefs de France.

Citrico's has a private room with one long, long table and we were put in there--perfect for the kids to run around after they finished their dinner, as the room had a set of doors that could be closed. It was perfect! Also nice and private--would be good for a first night or last night of vacation for a special celebration.

Great idea! Keep them coming!

Our group of 13 visited 12/27 - 1/2. Hoop Dee Doo is one of our favorites but not this time. We were seated at 2 tables with an aisle between us. Our family was split and we never even had a chance to talk with part of the group that drove 2 hours just for dinner. Manager was the rudest person I have ever encountered in my life and definitely not Disney material. We also had a problem at AK Rain Forest. The group had a good time at Hoop Dee Doo but check to be sure tables are together or closer than ours.

We had great luck at 50's Prime Time, Whispering Canyon, Donald's Breakfastosauras, Crystal Palace. AK Rain Forest would have tried reseating us together but we had reservations for Wishes Cruise and had to eat on the run.

Good luck!

1900 PF is a going to be tight so not one I would suggest for a large group.

Here are my suggestions:
MK - Ltt, Tony's
EC - Rose & Crown, Biergarten, Teppanyaki, Akershus
MGM - Mama Melrose, Brown Derby
I think they will have a tough time getting you at one table at Sci Fi. Simply because of the table configuartions. You will probably be in several cars.

Resorts - Concourse St, Cal Grill, AP, WC, Konas, GF Cafe, Citricos, Yachts St, Flying Fish, Cape May, Boatwrights

We were told for our December 2004 trip that we would be separated in our restuarant choices. But we were seat together in all the places we chose.

Here are some of them:

Ohana
Cindy Royal Table
1900 Park fare
Bomas
Le Cellier

We have 5 dinners to plan for the group of 14. Ages of people vary (6 months, 2, 3, 8, 19, 21, 2 @ 26, 28, 29, 35, 36, 55 and 58). I want to plan places to eat that everyone will find something to eat and we can all try to sit together.

night #1 arrival day/no parks = order pizza to eat in GV
#2 MK Leaning towards Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's and last choice LTT
#3 Hoop Dee Doo (how is Mickey's backyard BBQ?)
#4 Epcot Leaning towards Cape May or Teppanyaki
#5 MGM 50's Prime Time (fun for everyone) Mama Melrose's

Out of these choices which do you think would be able to accomidate a table for 14 better?

Thanks! Advice has been helpful! :grouphug:

Be sure you make PSs for as early as possible. That way they will be able to move tables and seat the group together. WDW-DINE might make you split the party as two reservations; this is OK because they can recombine at the restaurant. I would suggest calling the restaurant during its prior meal and let the people at the podium know.

I would suggest CM - easiest for them to set up one large table. CP has Pooh and Friends, not as easy to move tables. LTT has very limited menu and is much more difficult for moving tables.

Obviously different types of food. At CMC they can move tbles together. At Teppanyaki the tables cannot be moved but they could have the two groups seated adjacent and have chefs start both at the same time

They have a couple of areas where they can push tables together.

We didn't do dinners anywhere but with our party of 12 we were able to be seated together for breakfast at Kona and also at Donald's Breakfast in AK they put us in a side room which was great as we were 6 adults and 6 kids.

DH thinks we should stick with Buffet's (more choices for different palates). So, instead of 50's Prime Time we are thinking about Hollywood and Vine. We have never eaten there. How is the food and how would it be for a large group?
