Best Restaurants for First Timers

50s Prime Time is unique. The atmosphere is very Disney and the food is okay. As an adult this was the first TS I chose because everyone talks so much about it.

We tour the theme parks almost every day of our trip. Therefore, we keep all our ADRs within the theme parks. Here are our favorites:

Magic Kingdom:

Table Service: Crystal Palace or Liberty Tree Tavern.
Counter Service: Pecos Bills or Cosmic Rays.

Epcot:

Table Service: Garden Grill
Counter Service: Sample from the various countries

MGM Studios:

Table Service: Sci-Fi
Counter Service: Toy Story Pizza Planet or Backlot Express

Animal Kingdom:

Table Service: No table service restaurants
Counter Service: Flame Tree BBQ or Pizzafari

Downtown Disney:

Rainforest Cafe or Planet Hollywood

If you want great food-- Cape May has a delicious seafood buffet. The price was reasonable. Kids have plenty of non-seafood choices too.

Character Breakfast-- Cinderellas Royal Table (if you can get PS) located in the castle.

Character Dinner-- Everyone had a great time at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary.

Best general good time-- Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge was so much fun. The waiters there were hilarious. Don't forget to ask for ketchup!

Best for Fireworks-- Rose and Crown at Epcot has fantastic fish and chips. If you get PS for 7:30 or so, you can watch Illuminations and have dessert. Simply awesome experience.

Best of Luck. These of course are OUR favorites. I hear really good things about Ohanas at the Polynesian, but I'm afraid of the food choices there. DD and DH are PICKY! Anyone else with picky eaters tried it?

For first timers:

Chef Mickey's
Liberty Tree Tavern
At least one in the World Showcase, depending on your tastes

We like all of these restaurants as follows:

Magic Kingdom: Character Breakfast at Crystal Palace

Epcot: Teppankini (We're trying Le Cellier this year.)

Animal Kingdom: Rainforest Cafe

MGM: Sci Fi Restaurant

DTD: House of Blues and Planet Hollywood

Contemporary Resort: Chef Mickey's Character Breakfast

Have fun picking your restaurants.

I must be the odd ball here. But out of all the places we ate last year the Crystal Palace was my least favorite. We did have to wait for about an hour to be seated and the is with reservations. But I am not a big buffet fan at all, so I guess that is part of the reason I didn't like it. Now on the other hand it's one of my kids favorite places to eat and my husband liked it as well. They all want to go back this year, but since I am the one that makes all the reservations.....hummmmm...I don't know what to do.
