Hey there everyone, I've been reading through the threads and there are lots of posts about good restaurants in the parks (especially Mythos ;) ), but not a lot about restaurants at the hotels. Any favorites? Any must-misses?

At the Royal Pacific, Emeril's Tchoup Chop is fantastic!!

Thanks for the post, gschmerl. We're planning to stay at the RPH so we'll have to check it out. I've heard that lunch might be better there than dinner. What do you think?

I'm still trying to figure out where best to post to get replies. So far, I've only received one to this thread, so I'm thinking that this thread might be better in the Universal Hotels forum. Is this forum mostly for questions about the parks themselves? Should I repost this question over in the hotels forum?

Besided Tchoup Chop at the RPR, there also Jake's bar that opens after 3pm. Its good for a late afternoon snack or dinner. They have good appetizers and sandwiches!

There's also Islands Dining Room that serves both breakfast and dinner. Although I've never eaten dinner there, the breakfast buffet is pretty good but costs around $18.

I have also had breakfast there and it was superb :) I would recommend it to anyone!

hrh has a good character dinner at the kitchen. nothing like eating by the bay at pbh.

We ate at two Portofino Bay restaurants, Bice and Sal's Market Deli. Bice is pricey but truly excellent and has a dynamite wine list, including by the glass. Sal's pizza is out of this world and very reasonable, though very limited in its wine selection.

you will get some answers here but might get more in the hotel section.

since you are asking only for recommendations for the hotel places, it might give you more replies.

just a thought.

it doesn't hurt to post at both places.

pull up the uo website and go to the hotels.
from there pull up dining at those hotels.

you will get an over all picture of the set ups they have and a sketchy menu.

i thought you posted the thread in the other forum and asked there also for the hotel info.

i realize you did not and i responded to a different poster.

instead of me copying everything over for the pbh hotel, i'll link the thread here about the places to eat at pbh.

sorry i screwed up.
i must be seeing pink elephants everywhere today.....

I have had both lunch and dinner at Tchoup Chop and the lunch couldn't come close to the wonderful service and food we had at our dinner there.
You should make reservations in advance. They can be made at
www.opentable.com

The Palm is at Hard Rock - FANTASTIC (but expensive) restaurant.

We have one here in Miami and it's wonderful. I've never eaten at the HRH one, but I'm sure the service and quality is just as exceptional there as it is here.

Tchoup Chop is also a must do. (at Royal Pacific)

I loved the Kitchen at HRH.

I must admit,if your big on breakfast,The Islands puts out a nice spread..

There is a thread on food on this forum, also look at US/IOA pic of the day thread:thumbsup2

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions everyone! I'd love to go over to PBH to try a restaurant. It gives me an excuse to hotel hop a bit. And the Islands breakfast will be perfect for our last day before we head out to the airport. ::yes::

Any more places to try?
