So, my son and I have been countless times but my fiancé and his daughter have never been to Disneyworld. This will be their first trip and our first as a couple with 2 of our adult children (I only have the one ds18 and his dd22 will be joining us- his dd15 and ds24 won't be on this trip). My fiancé is somewhat of a picky eater and I'm not too sure about his daughter because I haven't had the chance to spend time with her, yet. I'm really just meeting her and our first dinner together is going to be this weekend.

So, I'm thinking about sticking to buffet's like Boma (this is an absolute must for my son), O'Hana, Crystal Palace and Cape May. What do you think?

Only you know the likes and dislikes of your group. I would just make sure that there is always something on the menu for a picky eater.

I agree with previous poster, there is no way anyone is going to be able to tell you. Picky eater can mean a lot of things, my honey will not eat a vegetable, he will eat starch like potatoes and rice but no veggies and won't eat anything with sauce on it. To me that's picky but to others picky might be like my son who will not eat anything with fake coconut in it. I won't eat fish that tastes fishy. Personally, I don't do buffets, can't stand them so that might be considered picky. The best advice is let them look at menus.

Perhaps the 50's Prime Time? Colourful experience especially if your server really throws themself into the "cousin" act; and a menu full of non-threatening "home cooking" choices.

The last time I brought first timers, we did 3 dinners - Via Napoli, 50's Prime Time, and 'Ohana. I picked them bc they were a good mix of different types of foods and experiences. Other than 'Ohana, they were relatively inexpensive, so the first timers didn't have sticker shock. We had a mix of ages (kids and adults) and each of those places appealed to all ages.

Biergarten is fun with lots of food options, WCC is always popular and Via Napoli is one of our standard.

That's a lot of buffets...would you consider one "sit down and be served meal" to break it up? Perhaps Teppan Edo which is fun or Biergarten that has entertainment?

Agreed with others above, you really need to know the likes of your party.

I'll eat almost anything, but I'm VERY selective in other ways. If I went to a buffet on vacation, I'd suck it up for the first time. The second? It wouldn't go well, or the horror show of antics or kids playing games during what should be a nice meal? I'd literally, and have, bail on the future dining choices. Life is too short to be forced on what would be a culinary Batan Death March. Likewise, I wouldn't take my fish hating friends to Bluezoo without letting them see a menu and knowing they were good to go. I think you should discuss the choices and just know your groups deal breakers. Kimonos might not be a good choice for a sushi hater who'd likely have to eat afterward. My idea of hell is 50's Prime Time/WCC/'Ohana. WDW has something for EVERYONE and that's the beauty, but just ask what would be miserable for them and then choose.

I think San Angel Inn, while the food can be hit or miss, is really interesting and perfectly unique for instance which would be something immersive they might enjoy, or Rose & Crown/Spice Road as they're on the water, or CG during fireworks (that's probably a safe bet as the menu has something for everyone). Regardless, I hope your newbies love WDW as much as you do!

Sticking with buffets are a good idea imo especially for picky eaters - usually can find something for everyone to eat.....I would also include Biergarten and Chef Mickey's....still buffets but Biergarten has entertainment worth viewing imo and who doesn't love Mickey and the crew

Hoop Dee Doo would be an amazing time for first timers! All
You care to eat, the food is really good and the show is such fun! Includes a photo, gratuity, wine, beer, sangria too.
We take everyone to Hoop Dee Doo that have never been to WDW. And not a single friend or family member of any age didn't just love it!

Edit- also Spice Road Table. Waterfront and food is reallly good.

Ohana meal is a classic Disney meal. View of the castle with a fruity drink in a pineapple is always fun!
