My DD11 *loves* crab legs (esp. Snow Crab legs...smaller 'bumps') and I've been reading that Fulton Crab House seems to be not so good as it used to be (Might as well go to Red Lobster, eh?)

What other restaurant (Epcot or DTD) would be a great place to go for crab legs?

I have been looking at doing The Boston Lobster Feast in Orlando. It looks like it is not to far away from the resorts. Look it up on the internet it looks good. Anyone know if it is good and how far?

A couple of notes.

First, Red Lobster in Florida is remarkably good. It surely isn't elsewhere in the country, but for some reason the Florida restaurants are super.

Second, FWIR, Fulton's is as good as it has ever been; the problem is that it was never really that great. I remember going there a year or two after the conversion from Empress Lily, and thinking, "Well, that's nice, but not great." I also remember having this same discussion about the comparison to Red Lobster back then. :rotfl: I think at the time, someone suggested that it was better than Red Lobster, and I disagreed, saying it was better than the New York (where I was living at the time) Red Lobsters but about the same as the Florida Red Lobsters.

For some reason, crab legs on-property isn't working out. :confused3

You can order crab legs as an add on to your dinner at Cape May Cafe Clam Bake.

My son and I did this last April. I only ordered one order for us to share. However, we were unable to finish them. (Too many yummy things on the buffet :lmao: )

I have read some not so good things about Fulton's, but I love the place! I don't visit as often as other. Perhaps that is why I think their seafood is great. We have two ADR's there this September.

I like Fulton's. I've had crab legs there before and they were delicious. Also, there is a Crab House just outside of WDW, behind the Cross Roads Plaza.

Tempted to try Fulton's and their price for snow crabs isn't really that bad.

What about the Flying Fish?

It's sad to say, but I've found it nearly impossible to find decent crab legs around Orlando. I wouldn't recommend Boston Lobster feast--blech! It was just plain gross the last time I went with overcooked, water bogged lobster and crab that was rubbery with no flavor at all!

I've just resorted to going to Lombardi's fish market, picking up 2 lbs of king crab legs and cooking them at home...best ever! But, since you don't have that option, I'd go with the crab house. If you just want good seafood, with no crab---Celebration Town Tavern is good.

I pretty sure that the Flying Fish does not have crab legs on the menu. I was just there and don't recall seeing them. I could be wrong though....

Well, I guess I'll check out the Cape May. Could order the crabcakes for myself and get the add-on for DD.

And, I'll be at YC so BC is just right next door! :)

My DS has a thing for crab legs as well, we went to Joe's Crab Shack(off property). It's close by and really good!! :cheer2:

We've a Joe's Crab Shack here downtown at the river. Good food but gets a bit loud at times.

I'm actually debating on if I want to stay on-property the whole time or dare to venture.....off-property!

We had a Joe's Crab Shack in N.O. - that was pre-Katrina, sadly it washed away. Ours was huge and also very loud. The one in Orlando is much smaller and not as loud. We've been to Cape May Cafe before and were not at all impressed. :bitelip:

While I have seen some poor reviews of Fulton's on these boards I simply do not understand it. My family LOVES Fulton's. It is a must do every trip! And the lobster and crab feast for two is out of this world.

I'm hungry just looking at it

I can not see comparing Fultons to any chain restaurant. Not the greatest service in the world but I think Fultons is light years ahead of several of the others mentioned. We enjoy the crab there. I think many are shocked by the prices. Check menues in advance and it can make dinner a lot more pleasant.

Ya know, looking at some of the reviews at allears it almost seems like some of the negatives are from repeat visitors or people perhaps with high expectations?

It might come down to whether I want to take a bus to DTD (are there boat transports from YC to DTD?) or if I just want to walk over to Cape May.

If you take a look at the reviews on AllEars the biggest general complaint is based on price. The 2005 UG lists Fultons as 84% thumbs up and 16% thumbs down. Compare that to The Coral Reef which gets 48% thumbs up and 52% thumbs down. Reviews sometimes have to be taken with a grain of salt.

Do you know if I order the crab legs as an add-on,
would they be included on the DDP or would I have to pay OOP?
Thanks,
T.
