Best Restaurant for Candlelight Processional?

My family and I are used to going to WDW in the summer, but this year we're making our first trip to WDW in December! We can't take the heat anymore!!

Anyway, we're looking forward to making reservations for the Candlelight Processional in Epcot (around Christmas).

What is the best (or worst) restaurant and time to choose for the CP package (any price range)?

Thanks!

When I did my comparisons, I went to allearsnet.com and looked at the menus to determine which restaurants I would like to eat at. Then I figured what I would order to see if it came near the cost of the package. We have dined at Le Cellier and at Chefs de France on the CP package, and thought they were both worth the money.

The only time previously that we did CP we dined at Alfredo's. We thought the price was quite fair. You will get plenty of food, regardless of where you decide to eat! My inlaws did theirs at Rose and Crown, and they were very pleased with it. This year, we are going with the inlaws, and we have decided to go with Biergarten. Easier atmosphere to entertain DS, plus, since inlaws are paying for it, we didn't want to choose the most expensive place! We like the food everywhere in the WS, it would be hard for us to be disappointed! :D

We have eaten at the Biergarten both times we have been to WDW. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the food is delicious (if you like German food).

I don't know how old your son is but my daughter (who was 2 1/2 at the time) loved dancing along with the Oompa Band. She even tried the Chicken Dance.

Suzanne033-DS will be almost 3 when we are there in December. We ate at Biergarten last fall, but he was very tired, plus a little more reserved then (not to mention younger!), so I don't think he really got into things then the way he (hopefully) will this next time. We're looking forward to it!

My vote goes for Le Cellier, and we usually dine earlier and pick the latest seating for the Candlelight Processional. We've eaten at Le Cellier several times over the past 5 years and we've never been disappointed!

Actually, I don't remember being disappointed at any World Showcase restaurants...:D

I like the early performance of the CP and a later dinner. My favourite was early CP and a 7.45 PS for the Rose & Crown. We managed to get a side patio table and were able to stay for a wonderful view of Illuminations! (The only down side was that we come from the UK so our dining choice was not very adventurous!)

We did Rose & Crown Pub in 2001, 2002 and Chef de'france llast year and just loved both of them. We are doing R&C again this year.

Does Le Cellier have a view of Illuminations?

No - there are no windows from Le Cellier that have a clear view, the restaurant is around and down from the largest buidling, through the garden area. For views of Illuminations I would go to Rose and Crown and hope (or offer to wait) for a patio table or one at the window.

We did Restaurant Marakesh for our CP dinner package and thought it was wonderful! I thought the price was good for this restaurant as well. We did the early dinner seating and went to the late show, that worked out well for us. :)

We ate at the Mitsukoshi Teppanyaki Dining Room the last couple of years since we love Japanese Steakhouses. Unfortunately, Disney put a restriction on what you could order and the lobster dishes were no longer available. We always order lobster there even when we are paying ala carte, so we were very disappointed. I understand that other restaurants had special limited Candlelight menus too.

We may not do the CP this year because of the menu restrictions.

Le Cellier is our favorite restaurant at WDW so far, so that would have to be my recommendation.

We have tried Norway, China and Germany also. In our opinion, none of these compare to Le Cellier.

What other restaurants that are offered for the CP dinner package, beside Rose & Crown, have a view of Illuminations?

We pick the latest CP and eat before. We ate at Chef DeFrance and dining was nice. Not exceptional, just nice. We had enough time to enjoy Dinner and get in line early. Then we watched Illuminations afterwards close by the theatre.
