Best Resorts to visit with kids? - when hopping is allowed

we will be staying at a value resort, just wondering when resort hopping is allowed, what are your favourite ones to visit with young kids? (under age 10) I'd like to work in some exploring on a non park day

Wilderness Lodge. Love the lobby and geyser in the back. WCC is one of our favorite breakfasts never been for lunch or dinner but people seem to enjoy those meals. Also Animal Kingdom Lodge for the animal viewing areas and Boma when it opens it is our favorite buffet on property. It also depends when your trip is we like to visit all of the deluxe resorts and Ft. Wilderness around holiday time to see the decorations

You can visit different resorts, just not with your own transportation or Uber, unless you have an ADR or mobile order, though sometimes those get turned away. Using Disney transportation allows you access to any resort.

To answer your actual question though, AoA and AKL are 2 great places for kids to see.

AoA because of the lifesize replicas of Cars, Lion King, Finding Nemo and Little Mermaid statues. You could include Pop as well, though the nastalgia is probably more exciting for adults.

AKL you can visit the animal viewing locations and watch the animals roam about. It's quite relaxing for adults but some kids might tire of it quickly.

All these activities we enjoyed pre-Covid...so I am not sure if they are offered now or in the future:

AKL for viewing the animals (sometimes you can pay a small fee to make a craft with a CM in the lobby).

Ft. Wilderness Campground walk around the horse stables also depending on the size of your children you can also pay for them to have a pony ride. There is also Chip and Dale's Campfire Sing- Along that is fun.

Polynesian: It is fun to sit out on the beach and eat a Dole Whip!

Port Orleans Riverside: Rent a surrey bike and take a spin.

Art of Animation: Animation class held at the far end of the lobby.

Movies by the pool at various resorts. There used to be games poolside during the day too.

You can't get inside the pool gates unless you are a guest of that resort.
