I want to shop for adult swim wear, & unique souvenir type stuff. We are staying off property, so I would need to drive to a resort, but would love to hop on the monorail & resort hop & shop! But also wonder if there are resorts not on the monorail line I "need" to shop???

Any suggestions???

Thanks!!!

stop at the Contemporary and the Poly. The Contemporary has a bunch of unique shops that I always seem to find something "different" that you don't see everywhere else.

From what I remember, the Poly had a large selection of Swimwear and other shops. I think the Contemporary did too, but not as large of a selection as the Poly.

The Floridian is nice, and they do have shops, but I was really disappointed with them the last time we were there. Typical stuff that you see everywhere. I remember when the Floridian first opened, their shops had so many unique items. (My brother bought a Mickey/Minnie Clock there and I have never seen it anywhere else.) Now it just all looks the same as every other shop.

For the best swimwear selection, I'd recommend that you try some of the local shopping malls outside of Disney. The selection would be much greater, and the prices would be better. The resort gift shops would have a very limited selection (if any) of swimwear. If you do want to shop for swimwear on property, it seems like you'd have the best luck at either of the water parks (but you'd have to buy a water park pass to go to their gift shops). The World of Disney store or the athletic clothing store (can't remember the name) at Downtown Disney might also have something.

Seems to me like Animal Kingdom Lodge might have some great, unique souvenirs. Maybe it's just me, but I don't really think of the resort gift shops as "shopping destinations" per se - to me, they're more of a place to pick up some milk or a postcard on my way back to the room, rather than a place to shop. I think you'll have better luck shopping at DTD or at the individual stores within the parks for unusual souvenirs. For example, there's a gift shop in MK (Adventureland) that sells cute stuffed plush animals, all dressed up in safari outfits. What's cuter than Tigger in a safari suit?

I agree with the monorail resort shopping - but unlike the PP I like the shops at the GF, particularly the "girlie" shop next to the tea room. I get lost in the art gallery at the Poly, although I suppose that isn't really the usual definition of "shopping..."

I also like the shop at AKL - lots of unique stuff there.

My favorite resort shops are Boutiki at the Poly and Bayview Gifts at the CR.

I like the shops at GF best overall, and I find the atmosphere there really pleasant for shopping.

I agree that CR has some great shops ! I have only stayed at CBR and the gift shops there are great but no where near the selection CR has. Not sure on other deluxe resorts bc I've only been to CR to eat at chef mickey's :)
