Best resorts for families with small children

We just stayed at VGF on rented points for 3 days, and BCV on rented points for 3 days, bookending a cruise. We loved both!! SAB was the best for our 21 month old, and our DH now wishes we owned there. Our 6yo DD LOVES GF and the princess promenade. Last 2 trips, we've done our arrival night dinner at 1900 Park Fare - what a great way to get in the mood!

The cost for a private point rental wasn't bad. If you really wanted to avoid a split stay, maybe consider saving your VGF points to use every other year, and rent BCV or other other points from an owner as close to 11 months as possible on the alternate years, until you can add on at VGF. I do agree that split stays with little kids are tough. FWIW, we are budgeting points so we can take 2 trips in 2018. As a result, although we usually like 7-9 days, we are "only" staying Sunday-Saturday over President's week. We figure we will be back again, and Friday and Saturday nights are expensive!

It wasn't too bad, but we only had one child (3yrs), not 3 to pack up and move! I know Disney will transport your luggage but we had a nice breakfast before checkout, then just took a taxi with all of our luggage to the next resort and our room was ready early so it worked out great for us!

Once they are all big enough to carry their own luggage and dress themselves and no ones breastfeeding we'll do it again. Unless we're forced to of course. I'm still in that period of kids where they require so much crap. My girlfriend has 2 aged 7 and 9 and she tells me the difference is immense. I have three 5 and under.

Frankly, at that age, wherever they stay will probably be "the best resort" as far as they're concerned! A few years ago, we stayed at OKW with our DGDs, that same age. Most people might think that's by far not the best resort for kids, but they'd disagree. It had the best pool, I'm sure they thought-water, splashing, everything. And after we took DGD to BBB and she was all dressed up like Snow White, we got on the bus from OKW and the bus driver made a big announcement over the intercom that everyone should be on their best behavior because there was a Princess onboard. She loved it, and even though we all know bus drivers anywhere might do that, she remembers that the bus driver at OKW did. I tell you this because before we took them, we stressed about "what's the best resort" for them, and finally DH said "Well, we can't decide and I like OKW so we'll stay there!" This year we're taking the DGDs to AKV and I have a feeling a new "best resort" will happen!
Thanks for sharing this. What a great experience and memory for your DGD!

What a great way to bookend a cruise! Were the moves much easier than a normal split stay?
