I am currently booked in a one bedroom at BLT (home resort). I will be traveling with me, husband, 17 year old son and my two foster children both will be under 3. My daughter might also be staying with us (she lives in florida). I was told the 2 little ones don't count on the reservation I was wondering which resort you think would be most comfortable for us. I only have enough points for a 1 bedroom. Thanks Michelle

BLT has some of the smallest 1-BDRMs. Checkout OKW, SSR, and AKK resorts for some of the larger 1-BDRMs. AKK has 2 bathrooms in 1-BDRMs.

BLT 1 bedrooms also have two bathrooms. They are a pretty good size. BLT studios are smaller than most but the one bedrooms are nice.

Having two bathrooms (BLT/AKVK) makes a big difference for a larger party that might outweigh the smaller overall square footage of those properties. If it doesn't, OKW is the place for you. Request a building higher than 30 if access to the master bath from the hallway is one of your needs.

Only one under three can stay not included in the occupancy. We have two under three and was told that only one will not count towards the occupancy limit.

That is correct. If you have quintuplets, all age two, four will count towards occupancy and one will not.

So basically, you are a family of five plus one under the age of three. OKW will give you a lot more room, but the BLT one bedroom will give you an extra bathroom that could come in handy with your two older kids. You'll have one pack and play for one of the younger kiddos, so you'll either need to request another or figure out a way for the two little ones to sleep. OKW, BLT and AKV (not the value villas) will all have sleeping spaces for five (one king, one queen sleeper sofa and a twin sleeper chair).

I think BLT works for you. It's close to MK, and has the second bathroom. I would not change.

BLT's one-bedroom villas are actually larger than the one-bedroom villas at SSR, VWL, BWV, BCV, and AKV-Jambo.

Right. Is the studios you have to be careful with. Those things are tiny. Lots of wasted space in the hallway and kitchenette.

I would suggest OKW for the large rooms.

Yet, some people would say that being on the monorail line at BLT vs needing to take the bus everywhere trumps room size. However, I agree with you. Recently we took our 2 DGDs ages 2+4, and we stayed at OKW. Not only did we love the room size, we loved the balcony size. Every morning we all took our breakfast out there and watched birds and golfers. It's so hard to say what's best for people. DH hates BWV, but others love it.

With two younger children I would imagine you will be at the Magic Kingdom quite a bit. If that is the case I would stay at BLT. You can't beat BLT as far as
convenience to the MK. We loved the short walk to the MK and the quick monorail ride back to BLT.

And it also depends if you are inside the C or outside the C. They have different layouts that change the available space in the villa.

We are family of 5 too. I am liking BLT and AKV for the sleeper chair and sleeper sofa plus the extra bathroom. OKW also has the sleeper chair and sleeper sofa but just 1 bathroom for everyone (but in 2 parts). OKW also has the largest 1BR of all DVC WDW resorts.

Look into OKW and compare the layout and amenities to BLT. There is a "feel" to each resort too. Since you bought at BLT, you obvious like it there, and I would stay unless OKW looks like it might work out better because of the size.

BLT and akv 1bds are huge (800 sq ft?). I prefer BLT location with a toddler.

We stayed at akv once and running back for naps was not fun. One of our kids is a very very poor sleeper (cannot sleep in car seat stroller, etc). Every kid and family is different. Have fun!

Another vote for staying at BLT if you plan to spend a lot of time at the Magic Kingdom. I am a firm believer in picking a resort close to the theme parks we want to visit, thus we typically do split stays at either BLT/GF and BWV/BCV. We stayed at AK once, but felt we spent much too much time on the bus.
