We are booking our first family vacation :). I convinced DH to go to Disney since our daughter is obsesses! We are Florida residents and get some awesome discounts. I was just wondering what is the best resort for our 2 children? I currently booked the PO Riverside in a royal room with riverview. Any help would be very appreciated. We are going from May 13 to May 17.

For a 1 & 2 year old, even thou POR is my fave, i'd suggest POFQ in your case. Its smaller, easier to get around with small kids. Plus the pool is more vibrant which is perfect for their age.

A monorail resort if you plan to do Mk and Epcot. An Epcot resort for hs and Epcot. We love contemporary and yc. We only stay at those resorts for ease of getting to parks with our two under two.

Do you think the YC is worth an extra $700? We haven't been to Disney is about 10 years and have never stayed on site before. Right now it is about $1600 for POR and it would be $2300 for YV.

It's not our money, it's yours. Do you think the YC is worth an extra $700?
if it was me, I'd go to a monorail hotel.

Is the YC on the monorail? I am having difficulties navigating the site to see where all the hotels are located. It is not very iPad friendly.

Warning: I have never stayed at the Royal Rooms; however, I was looking into them and they are the farthest away from everything at POR.

We stayed at the Pirate Rooms at CBR, and it was no problem that they were the farthest away BUT I was with my DH and one 5 year old.

I am planning a trip for 2 years from now;) when I will have a 9 year old and 2year old twins....I am thinking either POFQ, POR preferred if I can't afford a Deluxe

Monorail resorts are contemporary, grand floridian and polynesian. If you can I would stay at one of those. The transportation options are great for young children. I found with my kuds we spend most of our time in mk. Also another option is wilderness lodge which has a boat which goes to mk.

In terms of convenience, the Poly is hands down the best. You can catch the monorail right from the resort (and walk to TTC to get a direct line to EPCOT). My kids LOVE BC/YC. The pool is IMHO the best on the entire property. when my kids were that age (one still is), they loved the beach area in the pool. BC/YC is also super convenient b/c you can walk to EPCOT and there is a playground by the BW. I'm not a huge fan of GF for little ones although the new splash pad is probably a hit.

Like a few posters have said a monorail resort is the best/easiest (I am partial to the Poly myself).

But since you haven't been in 10 years & I am not sure if money is no object or not, I would stay right where you are. You will get a feel for it & decide if you think on your next trip you want to stay deluxe or stay value or the resort you chose was perfect.

If moderate then POFQ since it is smaller...or book a preferred room at any of the other moderates or values....also heard the Royal Rooms are a hike... The other moderate resorts are Very large and spread out and sounds like you will have two strollers. If money is not a huge object, then stay on Monorail resorts or Wilderness Lodge as these are easiest to get back and forth to MK.

I would suggest a monorail resort if I had the extra money. However 600 dollars is a lot for my family. If moderate, definitely POFQ. If you request building four you can throw a rock and hit the food court, pool, courtyard where they play movies at night, and bus stop all from the balcony. I would not suggest doing that though. If deluxe, I would chose either contemporary or poly due to closeness to MK. You can walk to MK from the contemporary.

I agree that a monorail resort would be a great choice with two little ones. Our favorite is the Poly, which is just 2 monorail stops from MK and is just a 5-7 minute walk to the TTC to catch the Epcot monorail. If a monorail resort isn't doable, my next choice would be the WL. Even though the WL is not on the monorail, it is convenient to MK via boat and is a great deluxe with a beautiful atmosphere that is quite a bit cheaper than the monorail resorts. Good luck.

Thank you everyone for your input! I am going to stay where we are but explore a few of the other hotels why we are there so I can plan for our next trip :). I just can't believe the price difference between the monorail hotels and the other deluxe ones. I am hoping to stay at the Poly one day it looks gorgeous! Maybe I can convince DH for our wedding anniversary in December.

There is an app that you can get called My Disney Experience which has interactive maps. It is a pretty cool way to look around. :)
