hi again. i'm trying to start planning my next trip and i really want to stay onsite this time i have never done that since i was 2 and of course i can't remember that! so what is the best resort for the price? i know that they have value resort now but are they nice? and are the more expensive ones really worth it? thanks a bushel!

Depends on what you want. Is it important to you to be an instant away from the MK? Then a monorail resort might be worth the $$ to you. DH and I loved being walking distance from Epcot and thought the Dolphin was a fresh, fun place, but we would not pay that much $$ every time we go to Disney--but we go to Disney 5-6 times a year so we usually look for more budget-friendly hotels.

I stayed at Pop Century in February, and it was awesome!!! Pretty cheap too, and you get the whole disney effect even after you leave the parks. Have a great MAYBE trip!!!!

It really is all about what you want out of your trip.

The Value resorts are very nice, spotlessly clean, and have fun food courts and pools. There are busses to take you to all the theme parks and you can park near your room if you have a car.

The moderates have great landscaping, upgraded pools with slides, and, usually, a sit down restaurant option. You get the same bus transportation and parking near the room. The rooms themselves are a little larger and POR can sleep 5.

The Deluxe resorts have incredible theming, room service, multiple restaurants, great pools, and indoor corridors so your view out the window is all yours without folks walking past. Most can sleep 5 as the rooms tend to be much larger. There are also more view options like the savannah view at AKL. Most Deluxes have transportation options like walk to, boat or monorail access to at least 1 park and busses to the others.

You just need to figure out which options are worth the money to you, they are all great and the Disney magic won't end whether you go back to POP or the Poly. Once you pick a level, choose the resort with your favorite theme or the one closest to the park you will use the most.

I'm going to move this to our resorts board. I'm sure the experts there will have some excellent advice for you.

How much time do you plan to spend in you room? When we go we are more apt to spend almost all of our time in the parks. With that said, we stay in the Value Resorts. They offer all of the major benefits that the Premium Resorts offer.

With your paid hotel stay on property at all resorts......
--extra hour in the parks on early entry day.
--transportation to and from the parks including buses, monorail, boat to MK(if you wanted).
--being treated like royalty by CM's at each resort.
--and last but not least, a wake-up call from the Mouse!

We have stayed at a Moderate Resort before and enjoyed it. It was for our honeymoon and we enjoyed using the features that came with the resort (bikes and boats). That was a more relaxed take it easy vacation.

But since we now have children, all we need is a place to sleep, a place to swim, and plenty of time in the parks.

Hope this helps.
