Hey y'all! :)

My fiance and I are getting married this May and we're currently planning our "disneymoon" ;) Does anyone have any recommendations on which resort we should choose, or simply which is your favorite and why?

Thanks a bunch! :thumbsup2

I think that every resort could be argued for a honeymoon resort!

Personally, I think that The Grand Floridian is very romantic. I've always wanted my honeymoon to be here. I love the Victorian, turn of the century theme.

With that being said, I think I'm going to choose the Yacht or Beach Club for my honeymoon next year. I love that it is so close to Epcot and the Boardwalk area has a lot of nightlife. Stormalong Bay is a definite plus too!

NOTE: I haven't actually stayed at any of the Disney hotels personally at WDW, but I have toured them during various stays. So I guess I can report on how they feel at least.

It really depends what sort of couple your are, being at Disney, you should at least bear in mind that hardly any hotel on property is likely to be kid free. Long as you can roll with that, sky is the limit!

Really the only resort that might be a "no-no" in terms of "Honeymoon" are the value resorts (All Stars/Pop/Art of Animation) considering those are more touristy and tend to take school/sports groups a lot. So if your hoping for relaxation while in your hotel, your better off trying the Moderates or Deluxe resorts.

Naturally the more expensive the resort, the more luxurious it is. So places like Saratoga Springs and Grand Floridian are generally considered *the* places if your planning to really push the boat out. But that doesn't mean you can't get a really nice room at a moderate, or even a budget resort. My parents did an unofficial vow renewal of sorts in 2011, and their hearts were set on Port Orleans.

One of the best ways to find what works for you is to search youtube, there's plenty video tours of practically every room type in every Disney hotel out there that will help you get a feel for each place.

For me, I'm kind of torn between Contemporary/AKL. I love the modern feel of Contemporary, and I've ALWAYS wanted to do California Grill so that'll be on the honeymoon list when we get to that point. But got quite a while to ponder that one. I think I'ld even be happy with Art of Animation long as my hubby can deal with the constant disney nerdings

Thank you both so much!! :goodvibes

I actually did the Disney College Program back in 2011 and I worked merchandise on the Boardwalk! I absolutely love it there and I assumed we'd stay there--esp. since Epcot is our favorite park.

After much searching, one of my friends that I worked with on my DCP (he is retired and works there part time) ended out finding us a great deal on a studio villa at Bay Lake Towers! I'm so excited, I've never stayed at a monorail resort before!

For our wedding in June, my wife to be and I rented DVC points to get a villa at AKL with a Savanna View. Just go with whatever is comfortable with your budget, but I agree with the above poster...value resorts don't exactly scream romance haha.

BLT would be awesome!! Super close to MK. Be sure to eat at the Cali Grill to see the fireworks. I think that would be very romantic!

It's a little more for us to do BLT over AKL villa, but we'd rather be closer to MK and Epcot, plus I'm DYING to stay at a monorail resort! I'm SO EXCITED!

Great idea! I'll have to write that down. Real planning starts this Saturday ;)

I'm so excited for you!! While I have never stayed at Bay Lake Tower I absolutely adore the Contempo. During my first visit to Disney we stayed there (in 1995) and it has always held a special place in my heart.
Wishing you guys the very best!!
