I want to do some exploring of other resorts while I'm on my next trip. I'll be staying at the AKL with a group of 6 (5 Adults, 1 Child).

Where would be a real good Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner in another resort. I'm thinking about Chef Mickeys, California Grill, Artist Point, Citricos, or 1900 Park Fare.

is our favorite "splurge" when at WDW. We are also fans of the Kona Cafe at the Poly, modereately priced but excellent food!

DH and I are big fans of Artist Point. Great food (the berry cobbler is especially outstanding) and the WL is a fun resort to explore after you are done eating.

You might also think about having dinner at one of the Boardwalk restaurants. We have always liked Spoodles but I hear that Flying Fish is great as well.

Kona Cafe for breakfast (Tonga Toast)
Citrico's at GF or Jiko's at AKL for dinner
Beaches and Cream at Beach Club for lunch

The problem is there are just too many good restaurants.

I love Artist Pt. It is my favorite and salmon and berry cobbler are what I order every time.

Cape May at the Beach Club has a very nice character breakfast.

Other resort restaurants we enjoy are Flying Fish on the Boardwalk, Kona Kafe at the Poly, and Narcoosee at the Grand Floridian.

I have said it before and I will say it again, I LOVE OHANA'S! I think it is a great value and great food!!

You didn't say, but I hope you're starting with the Animal Kingdom Lodge's own fantastic restaurants, Jiko and Boma!

I also recommend the Flying Fish Cafe at the BoardWalk.

Brkst: Whispering Canyon, Boatwrights

Lunch: Beaches & Cream, Konas

Dinner: Narcoossees, Flying Fish, Yachtsmans St.

Favorite resort meals:

breakfast- Kona Cafe

lunch- Grand Floridian Cafe

dinner- too many from which to choose. Some of the best include V&A, California Grill, Yachtsman Steak House, Narcoossee, Citrico, Kona Cafe (very casual setting though), Artist Point and Jiko.

Out of your list of options, I'd give California Grill the edge over Citrico's and Artist Point (in that order). I would rate any of those three in the high 9 range, though, so you can't really go wrong.

Chef Mickey's and 1900 Park Fare are of course a totally different kettle of fish. Not a bad kettle, but a very different kettle. Assuming the child is of an age and temperament to enjoy (or at least tolerate) one of the others, I'd go that route.

If you want something at a resort besides AKL (BOMA we highly recommend for both breakfast & dinner), here is what i would recommend:

Breakfast:
Spoodles (at the Boardwalk)
Kona Cafe (Poly)
Coral Cafe (Dolphin)
1900 Park Fare (GF)

Lunch:
Olivia's (OKW)
ESPN Club (at the Boardwalk)

Dinner:
Flying Fish (at the Boardwalk)
California Grill (CO)
Palio (Swan)

Kamy

which is a MUST do. I would say Artist Point is our next fav.

We also enjoyed spooldles and Park faire for the character meal.

AKL has two of the best places to eat in my opinion with JIKO and BOMA, do not pass these over to explore the rest of the world.

I only really do sit-downs for dinner. So my top two suggestions are California Grill for a nice meal and 'Ohana for a simple, but really tasty meal. And seeing as you're staying at AKL do not miss Jiko, right up there with V&A's in my mind for quality of food.

breakfast: Grand Floridian Cafe...excellent fritattas

lunch: Beaches and Cream...great burgers better sundaes

dinner: California Grille...it stands above the rest...it is the ultimate!!!

I mostly just eat dinner at the Resorts but here are my top picks:
Citricos - Grand Floridian
California Grill - Contemporary
Jiko - Animal Kingdom Lodge
Artist Point - Wilderness Lodge
Yachtsmans Steakhouse - Yacht Club
Flying Fish - Boardwalk

For Breakfast I can only recommend:
Kona Cafe - Poly

That still gets you to the best places and resorts in the World

Can't beat the Kona Cafe for lunch or quick dinner. Don't forget the crab cakes/pot stickers/ sticky wings.
