Beach Club was actually beating The Poly for a little while, but The Poly came back with a wave of support near the end. Would have been cool to see an upset... but it somehow wouldn't feel right if The Poly wasn't sitting here in the final round.

The Battle of Port Orleans (trademarked) was much closer thanks to the last few votes all going for French Quarter. But Riverside barely edged out a win.

So it's Hawaii vs. New Orleans! Can Riverside take down the champ?? Get to voting!

Polynesian Village vs. Port Orleans Riverside.

(I got another poll idea ready if you guys want to continue!)

This is tough. I've never stayed at the poly but I love the theme. I also love POR and have stayed there a few times. Because of location and dining and theme I choose,

The Polynesian Village Resort.

Riverside is nicely themed, but is HUGE, alsoI just think the iconic Poly is so all-immersive, and has been there, going strong, for so long, the top honor belongs to her.

I would love another poll, if you wanted to do one!

Poly.
I spent a few hours at the Poly last trip and fell in love (although in the interest of full disclosure, I should probably mention that I spent some of that time drinking). I spent an hour at POR and had no interest in going back. So this was an easy one for me.

Seems a little unfair since it's deluxe against moderate and I can't imagine in any case where the moderate would win. I'm torn here since Poly is not really one of my favorites (haven't stayed there since they renovated but have stayed a number of times in the past) and I do like POR. Can't beat not having to take a bus to anywhere other than AK if you stay at Poly though.

Darn it, I'll have to go Poly.

I don't like POR at all. Poly isn't my favorite, but I guess of the two choices I have to go with Poly.

Poly.

Poly.

ps This is off topic but many of the DIS regulars are following this thread so thought I'd pass on a fresh, updated rumour from the Free Dining watch. Black (long time tipster) has just given a heads up that it looks like Fall FD will be released this coming Mon April 25. Last yr, it was released early at eg 4am Mon or some other nasty hour. So if you have your fingers crossed for this release, you may want to get online early, early on Mon a.m. to check it out. Now, back to our regular program. :P

I will vote for Port Orleans Riverside and here's why:

At half the price of a stay at the Poly, you get different or similar perks.

You still get a pool with a water slide
76% the size of a Poly room (314 sq. ft compared to 415 sq. ft)
Gator Tail and Bananas Foster (compared to a Mai Tai and Dole Whip)
One of the largest arcades on a resort
Butterfly garden
Fulton's General store
River Roost Lounge, with Ye-Haw Bob
Muddy Rivers Pool Bar
Carriage rides, surrey bikes, and water boats
River Taxi to Disney Springs
Lobby looks nice, too

Tough choice...Poly is not one of my faves, but location/convenience and room size go a long way with me. So...I'll vote for...

The Poly

I may want to change this vote if we can make it in July.

I have to go poly for location alone. As someone who may only get to WDW twice ever, location is so important to ensure I utilize my time efficiently, so for me, you can't beat the deluxes with good transport and accessibility.
The theming and Trader Sam's are added bonuses.

As the second resort to open on property, the home of Tonga Toast, Macadamia nut pancakes, Monorail and walking distance to the TTC, Trader Sam's, and a favorite spot to see Wishes, Poly should have this. POR has busses to take you to the busses, a boat to take you shopping, and something else. Let me think on this for a bit.

Poly, though most deluxe resorts would win this too, that's why they are deluxe.
