Best resort for teens?

We've been to DW several times with our 2 DDs (12 and almost 14). My 13 yo DD is begging to return this August. We've gone the last 2 years in August and stayed at the AKL, which we love (she'd love to go back to AKL again). My DH is not thrilled that we're not expanding our horizons, but has agreed that we can go back if we do different things (off sight). For those of you with teenagers, are there any resorts that are a home run? Also, any other recommendations for fun pre-teen/teenage oriented activities would be welcome. Thanks!

Our kids (13, 11 & 10) loved the Beach Club for the pool and the proximity to Epcot, MGM and the Boardwalk. Never did make it to the Swan for miniature golf and never did do the surrey rides on the boardwalk but those are things that were just added to our "next time" list... Our kids did love Disney Quest too... way more than I'd expected...

Our teens love WL and Cont. and Poly. Just so convenient! They love to arcade at Cont., too. Poly and WL were fun to explore for them.

DS13 LOVES the Wilderness Lodge
so this Aug we're returning for 8nights at the Wilderness Lodge Villas before our first time at Beach Club Villas (6nights)

Did you consider a short Universal trip after Disney? I'm sure your kids would like the Hard Rock Hotel for 2 or 3 nights and if you stay there you get front of the line access to the Universal attractions.

My son is turning 13. He loves DisneyQuest. At the end of August our family is staying at the BC at Disney for 9 days and then Universal RPH for three.

Our DS has stayed at every WDW deluxe except the GF, and he likes the BW, BC, Polynesian, and AKL

The BW, BC, and PR have great pools.

BW also has Community Hall with free video games and some activities. BC often has organized pool games, and a volleyball court. The Polynesian has a good arcade and he loves the pool. And the AKL has the storytelling, night vision goggles, and more!

You can't go wrong with any of those.

My teens would vote for either YC or BC -- best location and pool at WDW.

I would say the one closest to the parks w/ the best transportation, perhaps Contempary, GF, or WL. I say this since they will want to be in the parks at all times (at least i did :)) and it is good to be close to everything and to be able to get there fast. I didn't use our hotel pool at all since i was so busy.

Can anybody tell me why the BW pool is great for teens? I really haven't heard much about this pool, and I'm not sure if the pictures do it justice. We spend a lot of time at the pool (being that we have to go in August!), so it's a big consideration. It sounds like the Epcot resorts are a good location for teens. Thanks everyone!

I think BW means Yacht and Beach club right? It has a big water slide so thats the big draw, and its a huge pool. Epcot was my least favorite park, but it is a good central location.

While not as large and interesting as SAB at the YC/BC, it's still a nice pool complex with a fun slide.

BW is Boardwalk.

The pool complex at the Yacht Club Beach Club is Stormalong Bay (SAB)

So far my teens favorite has been the YC. They did also like BWV and we all love OKW.

I have a teen daughter who has stayed at the Contemporary, Poly, Yacht and Beach, Saratoga Springs, all moderates and all values. Her absolute favorite is the Poly. SAB was just too busy for her to enjoy. She loves the location and views from the Poly. Loves the transportation options. Really loves the concierge there too.

She also really like Saratoga Springs for its proximity to Downtown Disney, she liked the smaller pools there and also the rooms...a quieter resort.

my teens loved BW the best.. 2nd was poly...they have been to BC as well
think the reason is the boardwalk.. I allow them to wander around a bit and be on their own. there are many kiosks, bakery ice cream stand and general store..
this year I am allowing them to go to Epcot on their own (with cell phone of course) and peruse for themselves....they are 15, and 14

My kids hated SAB....they felt too too many kids in pool, especially toddlers.
so for this reason we will not go back again.

My 14 year old ds loves the Poly and only wants to stay there. We visited the BC last trip, figuring this is where he would want to stay because of the pool, but he still says he prefers the Poly.
