Best resort for pool hopping?

We always stay at BWV, our home resort, and while we love the pool there, I'd like to look into pool hopping to a different resort one day on our next trip. We're not going during any dates when pool hopping is not permitted, and I'm already aware of the pools we cannot use, like any of the BC/YC pools, AKL/AKV and Bay Lake Tower.

Which resort pools would you recommend that are worth venturing out for? We've never stayed anywhere else besides BWV and Pop so I'm unfamiliar with other resort pools. We have 2 sons who will be 7 amd 9 when we go. We will have our car with us so transportation is not an issue.

We try to stay at the Y&BC so we don't have to worry about pool hooping. That being said the main pool at Saratoga Springs is pretty nice. :)

I love pool hopping to the Poly because its easy to head over there after a morning at the MK. I just love the beach and the view of the castle.

I also enjoy pool hopping to the GF, but that's probably not the best pool for your boys. The pool at the contemporary looks cool, although I have been there.

How about the main pool at CSR? It's got a great slide. You may also enjoy the main pool at VWL just because the theme there is so different.

I love the pools at SSR too.

Guess I'm not a lot of help :rotfl:

IMHO, pick the resort you would like to one day try out in place of BWV. If it is not on the banned list, go to that resort for the day, not only the pool but checkout the food options, checkout the themeing, and if there is an open room the front desk can show it to you.

also would go with Polyn and CSR!

I was thinking maybe Poly, because we could go on the same morning we go to Kona for breakfast. Then we could have some pool time, then grab a dole whip at captain cook's before heading back to BWV!

A view of the castle sounds nice on a pool day. At the risk of sounding ignorant, is there somewhere we could change out of our bathing suits or are we just limited to a public restroom? Like a larger changing room or something? Or is it inconvenient to pool hop?

I don't even know if we would stay anywhere else! We love BWV both for the location and for the resort itself. The only other one I would possibly consider is Poly if they ever build a DVC section but I'd imagine if they do, it will be a lot of points to stay there, and would be very popular and so probably very hard to get 7 months out for the end of July (busy summer season).

also would go with Polyn and CSR!

I think it will be Poly!

thnk it would be the public restrooms - it may have showers (okay don't remember) - but no changing rooms. (that i remember) - think the setup was like OKW main pool restrooms (I think)

might also wait until you stay at BLT to pool hop to Polyn. really love walking to the MK from BLT.

Caribbean beach with the pirate type pool...nice food court and a table service restaurant also.

Thanks everyone for all the info! I think we're pretty set for Poly. We could take the MK bus then the monorail or we can drive there. If we drive though, we're limited to three hours right? Or do we tell the parking attendant that we're pool hopping and show our DVC membership cards? We've only parked at other resorts when going to a restaurant and it was way less than 3 hours.

Three hours are all you get for a visit especially a monorail resort. Śo you can park at the main MK lot lot or take the bus to MK and once you are done either rent a locker at the park or take the bus back to BWV.

We love to pool hop at the Poly. We go in the evening to use the pool and they have movies on the beach and the Water Parade.
I enjoy walking the grounds at Port Orleans and hopping in a pool to cool off.
On our next trip though we will hop to the Grand Floridian because when the DVC part opens I would expect pool hopping to be banned there like it is at Animal Kingdom and Contemporary. We'll try it while we can;).
We enjoy going to other resorts for a quick serve meal and exploring Disney's eye to detail in theming with a dip in the pool.

Sounds great! Any tips for making it a less stressful day since we will have to bring a change of clothes and find a place to change? How do you do it at Poly and how do you get there? Which resort do you usually stay at?

This is a good thread! They only talk about which pool is banned from pool hop, I had no idea which ones are allowed and worth trying!!! We only pool hopped once last Easter we went to BW pool for a swim mid day between visiting Epcot in the morning and DHS in the evening. Please recommend more other pools in other resorts, so we know which ones to try in the future!!

Pool hopping is normally blacked out during Easter.

The pool at Coronado Springs is a great place to pool hop. And it has a nice play area as well.

Poly pool is great, we love the pool at the GF, they have a nice slide and zero entry and its just a great resort to hang out in.....If you do ever have the opportunity to stay at BCV do it, the pool there is so great..

Don't have enough points to stay 10 nights at BCv on one of our trips. We only go every other year and we have enough points to stay in a 1-bedroom at BWV, standard view. Won't stay in a studio either, we're too spoiled! :rotfl2:

Perhaps someday I will suck it up and stay fewer nights to stay at BCV. :confused3

Kids like the Saratoga play areas, and OKW has one of the best slides after the BC!
