Best Resort for Couples

My husband and I are going to Disney in the fall. Which resort is the best for couples?

Any of them. Depends on the couple really. List some parameters.

Agree. Need more details from what you want to do. Are you going to parks? Which ones? Will you be spending most of your time in the parks, or the resorts? There really isn't a "best" resort for couples. It depends on what you want to do.

We will be going for a week and going to all resorts. We love the rides and food. We will be there during the Food and Wine Festival. We want a quieter resort with good transportation

If you are going for the Food & Wine Festival, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk villas (not likely), are great choices.

If you are going to spend more time at the resort than the parks then again Beach Club/Yacht Club or AKVillas. Or, if you are spending a lot of time @ Disney Springs, maybe Saratoga? Copper Creek is a good choice also.

My husband and I have stayed at Jambo (home resort), POFQ, Boardwalk, Polynesian, Beach Club Villas, Copper Creek, CBR, Yacht Club and our favorite is Jambo House, but for the festivals Beach Club can't be beat.

IDK what you mean by "going to all resorts" but if you mean resort hopping then you must go to the GF (Enchanted Rose).

We went in SEptember, October, November, December, and March since the reopening and the bus service was good at every resort (Copper Creek, Poly, Boardwalk, and Jambo House). LIke I posted above, walking to the World Showcase in 5 minutes or so is great.

Depending on your budget, any of the deluxe resorts would be great (maybe with the exception of Animal Kingdom Lodge, as the transportation situation isn't great). If that isn't in the budget, I should suggest Coronado Springs, especially the new Gran Destino tower. Since it's a convention hotel it's a little more "grown up" with more bars and lounges. The only downside is that it's currently the only moderate resort without some form of alternative transportation besides the buses. Saratoga and Old Key West are also generally nice and quiet because they are pretty spread out. They also have boat transportation to Disney Springs, with some Saratoga rooms within walking distance (although I don't believe the boats are currently running - you'll have to check when you decide to book).

Any deluxe because they tend to be quieter, have a decent pool, an onsite restaurant, and they are usually in walking distance to a park (except for WL). If you really like Food and Wine I'd pick an Epcot area resort for the proximity.

For what it's worth, the 3 deluxe resorts my wife & I have stayed at as a couple (without the kids) in recent years have been Animal Kingdom, Beach Club Resort and Villas, and the Grand Floridian Resort and Villas ... 5 different styled rooms in 3 different resorts. Animal Kingdom & Beach Club seemed to have more families with younger children, which made for a slightly busier and noisier atmosphere. We both liked AK, but transportation was disappointing. My wife loves the Beach Club location next to Epcot, but we found the the BC Villa rooms the noisiest of any we've ever booked on Disney property. Our GF Villa room by contrast was the quietest. Still ... I have a thing about quiet rooms and have learned to put an extra bath towel on the floor by the door at every single Disney resort we book. I'm not joking. I swear they leave a 1 inch gap under all the room doors regardless of resort that seems to let in a lot of hallway noise. Looking at it strictly as a "couple", the GF Resort or Villa are our favorite. We find the GF resort itself is also very relaxing for us as an older couple, but then that's just us. We will be there again in a month and it was the only resort we even considered this time. Despite my nitpicking, all the Disney resorts are nice. You will probably love whichever one you pick. Good luck.

If you will be focusing in Food & Wine and want a quieter resort, I would recommend staying at a deluxe in the EP area. I would consider the following:

Yacht Club - Water View room (beautiful rooms, quieter resort, access to boat and walking to EP/DHS, Skyliner to DHS, tons of restaurants within walking distance)

Beach Club Villas - Studio (in a quieter building than the Beach Club resort, almost right next to EP and the Skyliner, close to park bus transportation, you'll get a queen bed and a sofa which makes the room feel bigger, IMHO)

Riviera Resort - Deluxe Studio (super quiet, virtually brand-new resort, gorgeous rooms, Skyliner access to EP, Boardwalk area and DHS)

If you would rather stay in the Magic Kingdom area, I would recommend GF for a quieter, couples trip. You will have monorail and path access to MK, and, possibly EP monorail access if they start running the EP monorail again.

I would say Boardwalk. I stayed there with my teenage daughter and we loved it. I think it would be the perfect resort for a couples trip. It’s my plan to stay there when DH and I go alone.

DH and I travel to WDW frequently, no kids. I agree that I could make a case for any resort as to why its good for couples. If Food & Wine is your main priority, I agree that Boardwalk, Yacht/Beach Club, or Swan/Dolphin are ideal due to their proximity to Epcot. But, these resorts are most popular during Food & Wine season so I'm not sure I'd classify them as quiet. Availability also becomes an issue at a certain point. If the pool is of interest to you, the one at Yacht/Beach Club is great but also popular with families, and it gets very busy.

Riviera might be a good alternative. Deluxe resort on the Skyliner, so quick and easy ride to Epcot and also easy commute to DHS. You can walk to Caribbean Beach for a change of scenery and Riviera has great dining options as well.

For quiet, I'd suggest a resort like Saratoga Springs. Its recently renovated and its a larger resort, so we've found it peaceful. Its also walking distance to Disney Springs, which is a place we frequent as two adults. With the limited park hours in the current environment, we spent more time than ever at Disney Springs on our last trip so not having to rely on a bus to go there is a big perk.

As someone with young kids, I thought of this as where would I stay if my wife and I could have one more solo trip without kids.

Starting with the deluxes/dvc we would either choose boardwalk/beach club for quick access to festival foods or Saratoga/okw for easy access to Disney springs. Both of these are areas we wish we had more time to do in recent trips with kids but find it hard with young children who have different priorities then eating around the world or shopping.

If we were not on dvc points or deluxe budget, our top choice for value/moderate would be port Orleans. This is where we went for our honeymoon so have some bias but we love the atmosphere and food here. Add in the boat ride to Disney springs and it hits that itch as well.

I recommend you look at the Swan & Dolphin as well. Same Epcot location, but often much less money than BW, BC or YC.

Boardwalk Inn is my top choice. You'll be in easy walking distance of Epcot for the food and wine festival and in my opinion it's a very romantic resort.

For moderate level resorts, my choice would be Coronado Springs. I think it is also very romantic and a bit more "grown up" than the other moderates because it has the convention center.

My husband and I (mid 30's, for reference) pretty much always do Disney just the two of us, and we've stayed at most of the resorts at this point (and if not stayed, visited rooms of family/friends, gone for dining, etc). We find the Yacht Club, Riviera and Gran Destino tower to feel the most "adult". The rooms are updated, clean and modern. The resorts tend to be quieter, have great dining options, are all relatively centrally located, and can fit a variety of budgets. Yacht and Riviera have super easy access to Epcot, and GDT is just a quick bus/uber trip away. If it fits in the budget, the 1BR at Riviera is our very favorite room :)

Contemporary Resort.

Dinner? California Grill is a short elevator ride away.

Pool? It has a quiet pool overlooking Bay Lake and I've never once seen a child use it.

Entertainment? Cross your fingers for the return of Hoop De Doo Revue at Fort Wilderness which is a quiet boat ride away. It is a lot of fun. *Note it is closed currently.*

Romance? Three Words... Electric! Water! Pageant!

We stayed at YC for our honeymoon and it was my first time staying on-site. I thought it was a great place for just DH and I and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
