Best resort for August split stay resort only stay?

I always recommend AKV for a resort-only stay because there is so much to do. Especially for young kids they'll probably love Kidani's splash pad area and of course the animals. Make sure they do the bead activity to learn about the animals and earn their bead necklace. And there's nothing like roasting marshmallows by the fire with giraffes and okapi 30 feet away.

I'll second AKL/AKV. What about the other half of the stay, though? Kids always love AllStars for the decor, the pools, and your kids are the right ages. POP and AoA would be worth considering, too.

My favorite for resort stays are RIV and CCV - I’ve done both with kiddos around the same age. RIV may not be an obvious choice but we’ve found there’s a ton to do onsite and close proximity to other resorts opens up a lot of other options.

We've done AKL Kidani and SSR for a resort only August split stay before and had a great time.

Definitely loved AKL Kidani

Want to use DVC points.....and maybe try a new resort. Weve stayed AKL, BLT, SSR

I think we'd love riv but we are resale :/

Also gotta suggest AKL. My grandkids loved it and did not want to leave. Lots of activities in the lobbies. Jambo House has rubbings and as well as the bead activities. My family likes Jambo over Kindani, but there is a shuttle between them so you won't miss out. Then The Beach Club for the pool. Stormalong Bay cannot be beat. Plus there are activities at night across the way on the boardwalk. My grandkids (and their parents) got a kick out of watching the juggling acts.

August will be hot. so the pools will be key I think.

We loved our stays at AKL and SSR. My kids also informed me they loved OKW and the boat rides to other resorts and Disney Springs. I find it nicer to stay at a resort where you cannot see a park, but it is very tempting to want to go inside!

I agree, back before we had passes and bought day tickets or did resort-only stays, I had major FOMO at Riviera for example where I could see Spaceship Earth from my balcony. There's no way I could do a resort-only stay at BLT for example. I'd go nuts seeing the castle and monorail all the time.
