I'd like to bring my parents to WDW for my father's b-day. Any suggestions for 5 + 1 child?? I am in LOVE with the Poly, but with this trip I expect to stay at a cheaper resort due to finance purposes. Any suggestions for a resort that can accommodate all of us??

We do have the annual pass for 2 of us if it matters. What would you guys/gals do?

You could try the family suites at the All-Stars/Pop Century(not sure which one). We are staying at Fort Wilderness Cabins in July. Im not really sure what other resorts can accommodate 6 people in one room.

How old is the child? I'm assuming that the deluxe is out? I would opt for AoA suite or ASMu suite or two regular rooms at the value resorts. I wouldn't recommend POR. It may be a little bit too tight to have 6 people (including a child). POR actually only holds 5 people.

Child is 2+. I've stayed at both delux and moderate, but think with this amount of people a moderate would be best for pricing unless we get a crazy discount with our AP.

The cheapest option would probably be 2 rooms or a family suite at a value resort. I don't know how the family suites compare to 2 rooms price wise as we've never stayed at a value, but the suite would keep everyone together if that's what you wanted. Depending on when you go and whether or not there are any discounts, sometimes the moderates come out to be just slightly higher than the values and would give you larger rooms and a pool with a slide (if that's important). If the child is under 3, any of the deluxe resorts (with the exception of WL and AKL) will accommodate you, as will a cabin at FW; otherwise, you will need 2 rooms anywhere you go (unless you get a 2 bedroom villa). The AB section at POR accommodates 5 people, but I'm not sure if that also follows the 5 + 1 under 3 (provided your child is under 3). Hopefully others will have other suggestions and will be able to verify about POR or correct me if I'm wrong. Good luck :).

Thanks everyone! I'll keep looking in general. There's no "need" for us to be together, but makes for a nicer trip overall. There will be 5 adults and a child under 3 if it matters. ;)

Ahh.. Yes, it does make a difference. You can stay at POR 5 + child under 3. It may be a little cramp.. But definitely doable! :) I think a room at POR is cheaper than 2 rooms at the value resort. Value suite will be more than the POR. What is nice about POR is that you can take a boat to Downtown Disney. You can use both amenities at POR and POFQ. The ground is very lush. I would opt for bldg #16, close to the food court or you can pay a little more and you'll get the preferred room, which will get you even closer to the food court. :) Good luck with your decision.. Have fun!

Yeah. Just did POR for the past 2 trips, but not with all of us. We did 3 adults + child. ;) I love it there, but not ideal for me. I LOVE....repeat LOVE the Poly. IF the price was right and could get 5 + 2yo in, I'd do that for sure, but still can't decide what to do!!

The Poly will accommodate 5 + a 2 year old :thumbsup2. Of course it's not the cheapest option, but is a great choice :).

Would you want 2 bathrooms and separate sleeping quarters?

The "junior suite" (aka "deluxe room" ) at either WL or BWI can sleep up to 6 (sleeping areas separated by a half wall at BW but separated with actual doors at WL) but has only one bath. If you need 2 baths then How about a DVC resort. All 2 bedroom villas have at least 2 Baths (BLT has 3) and I think the 1bedroom at BLT and AKV- Kidani village can sleep 5 + 1 child under 3.
(I'm sure someone will quickly correct me if this is wrong!)
What time of year are ou going? You may be able to get a good AP for a deluxe, you never know. In 2009 I think we got a AP rate at poly around Easter week.

Good luck with your planning!

Looking to go next month or two. :) We just got back this past Sunday, but itching to go again. LOL

might go with CR - wings room - they have 2 queen beds and a day bed (really a twin).

of course might be easier to get separate rooms = then Pop.

the new art of amination is opening later this month - you might try it too.

FW cabins might work - but not sure about the bunk beds for adults?

5 adults is tight in the Poly. We stayed there with 6 but 4 were kids- One bathroom is something to consider with 5 adults too. Getting ready in the morning could be an issue- the bathroom is big but.

We are staying at AOA in a month and half!:cool1: Deluxe snob going value! Hope we like it!

The last place we stayed as a group of 6 was the BWI concierge level. They have deluxe rooms that sleep 6

Are you willing to sleep on pull-outs? In these options, you'll give your parents the bedroom and your family will sleep on pull-outs:

1. Family Suite at All-Star Music: Queen bed in bedroom, full size pullout couch, single bed size pullout chair, single bed size pullout ottoman plus plenty of room for a pack-n-play. 2 bathrooms! plus kitchenette.
2. 1 BR villa at OKW, AKL Kidani or BLT - King bed in bedroom, queen size pullout couch, single bed size pullout chair. Full kitchen and washer/dryer

OR

Fort Wilderness Cabin: your parents would take the Murphy bed in the living room and your family will get a full bed plus bunkbeds in the bedroom. Full kitchen, huge 1 bathroom.

Otherwise, you're in 2 rooms at any resort for some space and comfort. Any of the above options give you a place to put the baby for a nap and close the door.
