Hi. I am planning a trip (our first) to Disney in early November and am going nuts with all of the options. I will be staying for 6 days with my wife and two boys. I am hoping for some input on the best resort to stay at. My wife says any resort since we will not be in the room much. The boys love to swim so I am looking for a nice pool. I am also looking for a resort with very convenient transportation. Thanks for any info.

For 6 and 9 yo boys I would have to say that the All Star Sports Resort is probably the best option. Although it'll be a little small space wise, they have 2 very decent pools (your kids would probably love the baseball pool w/the goofy who squirts water). Since you're not going to be in the room much, you don't want to spend a lot of money on a place where all you do is come in and crash after a fun day and All Star Sports gives you that option of a value resort. All Star Sports is in the animal kingdom area, ususally the transportation is pretty reliable. Just so you know...ASSR is my favorite value resort, stayed there 3 or 4 times now so I'm a bit biased. I do know that the young ones love it though!

HI and welcome!!!

This may help you get started: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1715551

As to the resort: a LOT will depend on your price range. If the convenient transportation is more of an issue than your budget, you might want to consider either the Wilderness Lodge or the Contemporary. (We had originally booked at the Contemporary. My son was NOT happy when we switched to the Polynesian; he REALLY wanted the resort that the monorail goes through.)

My best advice is to decide on a price range, then take a look at the fact sheets at www.allears.net

The theming. pools, arcades and food courts of the All Stars are great!

My 7 YO LOVES the Swan as do his big brothers, 11 and 14. None of them care about characters, etc. They also love the Beach Club for Beaches and Cream and the ARCADE that is next door.

We have 2 young boys also
We last went in Nov of 2007 and stayed in the Toy Story section of the All
Star Movies- they loooooooved it!! :wizard:

We love the Beach Club for the pool, and we traveled with young children. They loved it! The All Star resorts are another great choice.

I think the pool at POR is great. It is a moderate resort but the pool has a slide and there is a hot tub for mom and dad to enjoy, too. The values don't have slides or hot tubs.

My boys are 9 and 13 we are going for the first time and we thought about ALL STARS but we were afraid of the space and I heard it was a NOISY resort at times.

So we went with the Coronado Springs. My boys are on the local swim team and got all excited to see the huge "temple" pool.

Check it out.
WE can't wait.
