I am in the very early stages of planning a trip for right after Thanksgiving this year.

In the past DH and I have stayed at PO-FQ, All Star Movies, Coronado Springs and the Swan. Now that we will have our DS with us I am trying to decide which resort would be best.

We will be spending more time in the room on this trip because DS will have to have naps and we will probably spend at least one day (the day after we arrive) just relaxing at the resort and hopefully spending time at the pool.

Any suggestions?

We took our DD who was the same age at the time and stayed at the cabins. We absolutely loved it. Seperate room for napping along w/ a full kitchen. We like you planned on alot of "down time" and we would go back to the cabins after lunch for a nap and then take the boat back to MK or visit another one of the parks by bus. The petting zoo was great for her age and the boat to MK was quick. The buffet there (I forget the name) was very kid friendly and she loved being able to walk around w/out having to hold our hand or be in the stroller the whole time. Beware though, after having stayed there and having such a memorable time we bought DVC ;) :)

Well, the most important thing to us was a balcony. That way we always had someplace to hang out while DS was napping. That ruled out CR wing rooms, and made the Polynesian a little iffy (although most of the rooms do have a balcony or patio).

On our last trip we found the Beach Club villas studio to be perfect! There is a ton of floor space, because you have a sofa bed + queen instead of 2 beds. The pool was fun for DS (2) and there were lots of places to walk around. Renting points from a DVC member was a great deal! Much less expensive than a regular BC room, even with a code.

I'd think any of the DVC studios would be good for you. It's nice to have a kitchenette for milk, leftovers, whatever.

We also loved AKL! The pool is nice for little ones, and there is are so many places to just hang out there. We also found the bus transportation to be very fast & convenient.

Have fun figuring it out! :)

We took a WDW vacation in 2000 right after Thanksgiving, Nov. 30 - Dec.6. It is a great time to go, the parks were empty (well, almost). All the Christmas decorations were up, it was beautiful!!

If you can swing it, stay at a WDW Resort on the monorail, it was a big time saver when are sons were small. We have stayed at all 3 resorts and all of them are nice. I would recommend the Polynesian Resort if the pool is important (this is our favorite resort). The new pool at the Poly is great especially for a young child with the zero entry. My boys also liked the pool/slide at the Contemporary but they were 9 and 12 at the time. The best pool is at the Yacht Club/ Beach Club. But if you are planning many trips back and forth to your resort for naps or spending most of your time at the Magic Kingdom, then a monorail resort is definitely the way to go. It was worth every extra $$ to us.
