Greetings,
What lodges have the best amenities and activities for 1 (15 1/2 months) and 3 (almost 4) year olds? We are booked at WL for 6 nights but I was thinking of breaking up the stay and going to a different lodge for a few of the nights. Any recommendations?

Since your children are so young, I'd guess you'll spend much of your time at the Magic Kingdom. Since the Wilderness Lodge has a direct boat - it's a pretty convenient location. I'd probably stay there the entire time.

If you are looking to explore all areas of WDW, I'd suggest looking into the Beach Club. The Beach Club has easy access (walking or boat) to Epcot and easy access to MGM (long walk, or boat). You're also close to lots of restaurants and activities at the Boardwalk. Beach Club has a wonderful swimming area (by far the best at WDW) that your children would enjoy.

I totally agree with the above poster. With kids that young, MK will probably be your main park. I'd stay at a resort close to MK. WL is a wonderful choice (fun themed pool, rent bikes, rent boats, walking paths, beach area). Personally, I wouldn't want to switch resorts mid-trip (unless it was perhaps a 2-week trip) with small kids. It takes us forever to unpack all of our baby supplies, etc., and I couldn't imagine re-packing for another resort and then unpacking again at a new resort.

CR and Poly are also MK resorts with monorail access. CR also has a walking path to MK. We stayed at both of those resorts last year (2 different trips) with our 1 year old twins and found the entire trip to be fairly easy because of the transportation options and ease of getting places.

We stayed at the CR with a 4yr & 19 month old. We really liked the convenience to the MK and the monorail. There was also a playground, not sure if WL have one or not. Also, it would be a boat ride to the Fort Wilderness where you could take the kids to the petting zoo. I think any MK resort would be nice.

I would definately check allearsnet.com and see what each resort has to offer for you kids before making a decision.

I have stayed at both VWL and BCV with young children (and Poly too.) and while being close to MK is great, you can't beat BC(Beach Club). I love that resort and the pool is amazing. It is the best pool anywhere for young kids. My DD was almost 2 when we stayed there last and she loved it. It has this sand bottom very large, but very shallow pool that is so much fun to play in at that age (and any age.) Time spent in SAB was the best of the whole trip.

Last year at VWL was nice, but we are going back to BCV next month and we will have a almost 4 year old and a 7 month old. (friends with the same age children will be with us.)

One thing about being close to MK is, you are far from anywhere else. BC is more centrally located and very close to 2 parks (Epcot and MGM) Ecopt is good a night since many of the other parks close sooner.

One tip, to get to Epcot from WL, don't take the bus. Take a bus to TTC and then the monroail from there. We did this a number of times and it worked much better then just the bus from WL.

Have a great trip. (if you switch over to BC during this trip, condier for your next trip.)

I agree with young children you'll want to be close to MK. WL is a great choice. Another one not mentioned is the cabins in Fort Wilderness. We've stayed there many times and having the extra room is fantastic. FW is on the same boat loop as WL to MK.

It is also very nice to have a separate bedroom for the kids when you return from a park so you and your spouse can watch T.V. and talk without whispering and waking the kids up.

Its also nice to have a full kitchen when you have young kids. And I don't know about everyone else, but WDW is the most romantic place there is, so having a little privacy in the evenings is a good thing :smooth:
