best rental car at TPA?......

We are flying in to TPA in March. We currently have res at National, which requires an airport shuttle to get to. Can anyone recommend a good company with decent rates?

Well, I'm not sure about decent rates, but we found Budget to be the cheapest for our dates (in two weeks). Unfortunately I waited too long to book, plus we return the car on a holiday weekend so the rates are not that spectacular. However I have heard that both Budget and Dollar are usually pretty reasonable, and both are on-site. Good luck!

The shuttle ride is not more than 5 mins. in tampa.

In Tampa I've had the best luck with Hertz using the AAA discount. I tend to book only at the "in terminal" rental companies; eventhough the shuttle ride is very short.

We have flown into TPA once before and are flying in there next week-end to go to WDW. I have always gotten the best rates with Dollar. They are onsite and offer a free sign up for Fastlane. As a Fastlane member you don't wait in line (or I should say you have a special line that no-one is usually in) and you get a free car upgrade. It's on their website. I have also used them on several other vacations and have never had a problem.
