Best recorder for digital tv?

I have sky so know very little about the best devices to record digital tv. So my question is, if someone has a digital tv but wants to record programs what is the best, ie easiest to use, recorder? I am not looking for anything too expensive but want an HDD not DVD recorder.

I may be wrong but if you have Sky don't you record straight onto your Sky Box??

My parents have Sky and this is what they do?

We have BT Vision and we record directly onto the BT Vision box

Thanks, this is a present for someone who doesn't have sky and only gets digital tv through an aerial.

We have a Sagem recorder which is about 4 1/2 years old, it's used every day and we've never had any probs with it (I hope I haven't jinxed it now!)
