We just got back from our first Disney Cruise yesterday and we used DVC points for it. If we would pay cash, who has the best rates?

It depends on your cruise dates.

When I checked All Seasons price was exactly the same as my price from DCL directly. (They did have a $150 on board credit special running)

DU was a little less AND they also had an onboard credit offer.

A lot of people seem to get great deals through Costco. I have not checked there yet.

AllSeas had the best price, but Dana at Micdan.com came down to their price ($32 difference), and since I had heard great things about her, I booked through her.

When we booked All Seasons Travel blew everyone else's prices away. I checked a lot of places too. Their price was almost half of what everyone else was asking. :)

then u can transfer your reservation to a TA and take advantage of any Discounts they may offer ........

How does this work?! Do you get to keep your 10% discount even if you transfer to a TA? I didn't think you could do this. I thought the discount only applied if you booked thru DCL. If what you say is true, how AWESOME!:hyper:

We booked while onboard. When we were back home, I tried to change over to DU or AllSeas. With the $200 per stateroom credit and the 10% off, Neither could beat DCL prices. I guess I 'll just stick with DCL. I think that I like the idea of going straight thru them. On our first cruise, I booked thru DCL and then transferred my ressie over to TA. Not being able to call DCL with questions and not being able to see our ressie online, drove me nuts!!! So, if you would rather let someone else handle everything for you, then I would go with the TA with the best prices and the best service. I think that DU and All Seas have a wonderful reputation. My sister used All Seas and was very pleased. I have read so many great things about DU. I hope this helps.

Dana at micdan has always had the lowest price..so we go with her.

I love allseastravel.com. Beat price and service!

For my last three cruises I have used www.cruisecompete.com and saved a BUNDLE! (I got my last cruise over 600.00 cheaper PP!) What you do is go to their web site, make up a screen name, put in the cruise & date you want, and put in 2 cabin categories). Then all reputable companies e-mail you their best offer for that particular cruise. Then different companies give you their best prices for that cruise in the 2 categories you requested (inside, balcony....) You have no obligation to book with any of the companies from cruise compete, but I always do. I would never use anything else to book a cruise, I always save so much and get to compare rates. Also, there is haggling involved, if you want to use one campany (ex; Best Priced Cruises) but (Vacations To Go gave you the best rate), you can e-mail or call Best Price Cruises & tell them you got a better offer, & usually the company will match it to get your business.
I always shopped around for great priced, but I never got such good deals before I used www.cruisecompete.com. (There was an article about them in the NY Times Travel Section (on getting great cruise deals). Also, my friends who also cruise use cruisecompete and save so much and swear by them too.
Hope this info helps,

I rebooked while on board ($200 credit plus 10% off), then moved my ressie to cruisetraveloutlet.com and got an additional discount.

Yes, you can transfer a reservation that you booked on board, but once you transfer it, all further correspondence goes thru the TA. You cannot get any more DISNEY credit, but some agencies give a rebate on part of their commission (seems fair since they didn't do any of the work!)

I shopped around for our October 2004 cruise (booked in December 2003), and All Seasons had the best price. DU was only $200 higher, but everyone else (DCL included) was quite a bit more.

YES We got to keep the Rate that we got from DCL.. WE USE Dreams Unlimited.. transfered it to them and Became Eligable for there rebate program as well , Depending on the price of the cruise , higher price more of rebate so we just got another $50.00 Bucks off...

I called Disney for quote in April or May for August 14 7 day western, and then again yesterday. The price actually dropped.
Then I went to DU and got same price but with a $150 instant rebate. I checked All Seasons and they showed exact same rate - no rebate that I saw. Still waiting for Cruise Compete and micdan quotes. I think the earlier you book the better chance you have of a discount. I waited too long.

BTW, I've heard COSTCO has some good deals. But I've tried to call several times and was told I'd have at least a 1/2 hour wait each time. That's ridiculous. I gave up.
