Best rate out of T.O.

Could anyone tell me what their best rate to fly out of Toronto was? I am going with my aunt and her 5 year old in April and as much as I like to fly Southwest I think the drive would be to much for them coming from Parry Sound. Right now on Expedia flights are $410. Is that good or have you gotten better and is it good to hold out?

That seems like a good rate to me ... Last May, I paid about $450 for a ticket on Air Canada. This December, I booked in October and paid about $419 a ticket. If I had waited a couple more weeks, I probably could have bought them at $393. Oh well

There is always a chance that the tickets could go down in price, but there's always a chance that the prices could go up as well. I think the best thing to do is to pick a price that you're willing to pay and book when that rate comes out I've found that the airfare is usually at its lowest about 1.5 months before the departure date.

Try Jetsgo as well. They fly into the other Orlando airport but they are ususally cheaper then AC. You can also try the charter Airline Air Transat as they fly into MCO as well.

My sister is coming home from Orlando (one way only) and is coming on Jetsgo. It's just over $200 one way (like $215 I think).

We're going from Buffalo in Dec for $51 each way. That's only about $150 Canadian with the exchange. Buffalo is only about another hour and a half from Pearson. Something to think about, saving $250 a person is $750!

Which airline do you use out of Buffalo and where do you park your car?

We're flying southwest www.southwest.com, another no-frills from Buffalo is www.airtran.com. We're staying the night before at the Best Western, it's $79/night with CAA and you can leave your car for the week.

Buffalo Airport deserves a consideration simply because it is so user-friendly...extremely well-planned, NEW, beautiful, and has a non-existent "stress factor", plus better to avoid Customs in an Airport if you can help it! I find Toronto Airport is just one of those terrible places where chaos reigns continually...hope the renovations/new terminal is done soon.

Plus, very low fares on SW...Continental also an option out of Buffalo (if you don't mind connecting in Newark)....they have a "Companion Flies Free" pass available in a promotional thing they sell for $79 (also includes 7500 bonus OnePass miles and all kind of extra discounts).

My vote for staying near Buff Airport goes to the Homewood Suites (a 10-fold upgrade over the Radisson or Best Western IMHO)...beautiful homey atmosphere, huge suites, impressive free breakfast, leave car there, earn Hilton points AND airline miles .....can't beat it!

I agree with Jersey shark.
DH has been travelling to Toronto weekly for the past two months. He usually uses AirTran to Buffalo because it is so convenient. He leaves the company car offsite at Sunpark.
If you can't stay overnight at BUF and get free parking with the hotel, Sunpark have coupons on their website. www.sunpark.com
Anyway, last week his plans changed so he flew home for the weekend using AC on a special weekend rate. He was near the airport and the thought of driving to Buffalo didn't appeal to him! After he got over the SHOCK of the amount of taxes he had to pay on the $184. special (so soon we forget.......) he thought at least he was closer to Pearson (hotel was in Oakville)
Friday morning he hit the 401, fought traffic, lined up to check in (he usually preselects his seats and prints his boarding passes ahead of time with AirTran) lined up for customs, hurried to the gate (for those of you who have heard the term, T2 Siberia - that was where his gate was - pretty close to Mississauga City Hall) He was now really close to departure time, really frazzled, only to find out his flight was delayed by 1 hour
He could have driven to Buffalo in the time it took to go through all that hassle.......come to think of it he probably could have driven home to Atlanta!!
All he said, in a very dazed stare, was "Never again!"

The moral of the story - an extra hour and a half on the QEW is sometimes worth it.........think of how relaxed you'll be when you arrive at WDW (and the money you'll save on the fares and taxes!)

You don't have to sell me on Southwest-I love that airline. I couldn't agree more about Buffalo airport being less hectic than TO, my only concern was my family driving another 3 more hours than I have to. I am still waiting for Southwest to open up the dates and then make my decision. Thanks for the input everyone.
