I am considering staying at this hotel a few nights for our upcoming trip in December.....We are planning to be in Orlando Dec 16-27 and want to spend some time at Universal and thought it might be best to stay on site for the front of the line advantage.

What is the best rate for this hotel you have received?

Is it worth it to buy one annual pass to receive the discount?

Thx for your help.

YOu don't have to buy anything beforehand to book. Just find out what the best rate is and then purchase your annual pass or AAA or whatever. You just need to present it at check-in.

From what others have posted about the crowds at both Disney and Universal, it sounds like you would have the advantage to book Disney at the front of your vacation and Universal last so you can take advantage of FOTL for the most crowded times.

def nicer to have have the FOTL perc @ the end of a split trip too, otherwise u'll find urself standing in line @ WDW growling;)

We are staying Dec22-Dec26 and the AAA rate for RPR is $226. I got this by searching the AAA website and then I actually booked it by calling the hotel. Hope that helps!!!

i can remember getting rph for $79 a night on a promo........

Ugh! I remember getting Hard Rock Hotel for $99 a night.

Editing to add: And Rosie O'Donnel at IOA the first week it opened. I can't seem to get that image out of my head. :)

Last Dec 12th - 17th we stayed there for 128.00 a night I believe it was. It worked out to just over 800.00 per room for 5 nights with taxes.

We booked with the AP discount but when I kept checking the Super Saver rate ended up being cheaper than the AP discount so I switched it.

I'd book the lowest rate you can find now and keep watching to see if a cheaper rate comes out and then adjust your ressie to the lower rate.

Yeah it was about $100 a night cheaper the week before Christmas when I was checking rates (unfortunatly we can't go then) so even though everyone says it's best to do Universal after Disney..... it will be a lot cheaper to do Universal first because of your dates.

We just paid $169/$134 over LD weekend for RPR. This was APH rate. Usually Fri & Sat nights are slightly higher but due to LD, we paid a higher rate for Sun night too.
Still worth it for FOTL and boy we really needed it, esp. Sunday. :goodvibes

Considering I have reservations for March for $294 1 night and $274 3 nights, I think you all got GREAT deals. I am hoping one will come up for March!

I called for sept res. and was told a standard room was 214.00(wow) and before we got off the phone I asked about discounts(AAA, entertainment card, Airline). She said hold on, came back and I got a rate of 128 w/airline emp. discount!
