Best Rate and Room Requests

If I book a room through the Best Rate program, how do I add room requests(i.e. which floor, building, etc.) to my reservation? Do I just call CRO and tell a CM what I want? That seems like the simple solution, but I'd like to know if anyone has done this successfully yet.

There are boxes to check for smoking/non-smoking or special needs.

Can't remember exactly where in the process, but there was a chance to type about 25 characters in a box for "anything else you'd like to tell us". I asked for a king bed in that box. If you have long, complicated, wordy or multiple requests, that won't help much, though.

I called once to verify and add to my requests. The CM at CRO had to get customer relations on her other line and relay my request to them. The reservation numbers given throught the Best rate program will not come up on the computers at the CRO. It's a different system.

I just booked Best Rate today and added my bunkbed request at the end where you can use no more than 29 spaces/letters to make additional requests. After I completed the process I called CRO to confirm that my request was in the system. They said it was.
