Best rainy day suggestions

Well, we leave on 8-12 and I'm seeing rain forecast every day for our trip. A little rain is not a problem, but torrential downpours could put a stop to our park days since we have a DD6 and a DS4. What are your best rainy day suggestions?

Disneyquest is good, but I think your kids may be too young. Although it's not Disney, there are all those tourist attractions, like Wonderworks, etc. You could try that.

Epcot's pavilions are all indoors, though you would still have to walk from each Pavilion.

Watch the Olympics!! That's my plan anyway.

I'm with Kendra. I think Epcot is the best park when you have a torrential downpour. Keep in mind that those rain forecasts you're seeing may well just be the common Florida pattern of a short but fairly substantial afternoon rainstorm, preceded by and followed by brilliant sunshine.

Have fun!

We just got back yesterday and experienced some rather long downbursts :D -- for one thing, we just got used to being wet! We also went to the movies at Downtown Disney, took looooong leisurely lunches and dinners (that was really nice!) when it was raining, and played video games at the Poly and the CR.

If you're a hearty soul not afraid of getting wet, I would recommend Animal Kingdom on a rainy day. First of all, this park is hot so it's almost more comfortable to be there on a rainy/cloudy day. Secondly, we were there last weekend in a near-monsoon and we went on the safari and it was awesome! We've been there a lot and this was by far the best safari we've ever been on. The animals were really active in the rain - we saw everything and saw it up close! When we felt overwhelmed by the rain, we ducked into one of the shows or rides to dry out a little. It turned out to be a pretty great day!

Have fun!

when a few hours of rain is expected. We get up as late as we want, go to 2 or 3 different outlets (much to DH's dismay!) and then have a lunch offsite. We have been to Sonic, Golden Corral, Steak N Shake. I would live to try Sweet Tomatoes this time. Isn't there one on the way to the Beltz? A question-if it has been raining more than normal this July & August, are we in for a very wet Sept trip?

we did a water park on a rainy day and it was GREAT!! heck, you're wet anyway! as long as there is no lightening, it's a great way to spend a wet day, and the crowds are non-existent! when we went to TL in the rain, you could count the number of cars in the parking lot!!

I second the idea of the waterpark on a rainy day. We did that on our last trip. The waterpark was almost deserted. As long as it isn't lightening.

We are hoping on our next trip in Oct. it will rain. On that day we will be at the waterpark.

Is the forecast for scattered or isolated thunderstorms? These are usually very short storms in the late afternoon. Bring ponchos and maybe an umbrella. The parks clear out when the rain starts and it really cools things off.

We like MGM and Epcot's World Showcase in the rain. Everything's close with lots of indoor attractions, or at least overhangs. Make sure you bring extra shoes to Orlando. Unless you have a balconey it takes your shoes DAYS to dry out.

I like the idea of AK in the rain, if you plan to go there. I have had 2 miserable trips to AK in the July heat. The other parks don't bother me, but next time I try AK it will be in the rain!
