Best quality inn near Disneyland?

Are you using Choice for a discounted room (ie, employee discount, points, etc), or would you be open to other low cost options? I only ask because there's several good budget motels in the area that people recommend around here, but if you're using a Choice-specific discount, then that's not much help :)

I like to stay within walking distance. We recently stayed at the Quality Inn on Manchester so we could earn Choice Privledges points. We normally stay at The Carousel, the QI was maybe another 4 minutes of walking. If you look at a map of Harbor it's down the way from Mimi's Cafe. And the Panera is going to open soon!

Anyway, we liked it just fine. Especially for $104 a night (when we went in November). The breakfast consisted of waffles, biscuits and gravy, round egg patties, yogurt, toast, cereal, little muffins. The staff was friendly and our room was clean. Our fridge didn't work right -it froze our veggies. But that has happened to us at other hotels so I didn't complain.

Quality Inn and Suites Anaheim at the Park on Katella is the worst Choice Hotel I have ever encountered. I booked two nights on points last year. We stayed one night and checked out early. I called Choice Hotels and asked them to refund my points for the unused night. It is a very old motel with outside entrances to the rooms. The condition of the motel is very poor in dire need of updating.

That is good news to know. We are very satisfied with Quality Inn on Manchester and will be returning.

We stayed at the Quality Inn on Manchester over Labor Day weekend and liked it just fine, it was pretty clean and I loved the usually empty pool even though it was a bit cool. My husband was a little sad to see they didn't have a hot tub. Staff was friendly and held our baggage until the shuttle came. There was citrus water available in the lobby, too.

I have also stayed at the Quality Inn on S. Manchester with the same good experience. One time they put me in a room close to the freeway. When I complained about the noise they moved me to a quiet room more interior.

We just stayed at the Quality Inn and Suites Maingate at 871 S. Harbor Blvd. It is a 20 min. walk to the bag check area of Disney. The rooms were spacious, beds were really comfy and bath was very large. I liked that the sink was outside the bathroom. We took the ART from the parks back to the hotel in the afternoon and at the end of the day. I would stay here again.
