Best PS For dinner?

Myself, husband and four children will be going to WDW next spring. I am looking for opinions on what people feel are the best dinner places for atmosphere, magical memories and wonderful food! (My children are picky eaters, so please skip those exotic places at Epcot!!) This trip we plan to have slower days, so perhaps the meal will be the highlight! I plan on making 2 priority seating reservations, so would appreciate any input!

I think there are restaurants for just about everyone at WDW.

Last summer we did Chef Mickey's for dinner, for the first time. We are doing it again this summer. It was great. We has PS for 5:00 - first available seating. The food was great - buffet, with buffet for kids(fussy eaters) and lots of desserts. The characters were great. I highly recommend it.

Now I am trying to decide if I'm going to make any other PSs for the trip. I am leaning towards LLT, Sci-Fi(never did it before) and Alfredos in Italy.

Biergarten in Germany at Epcot is very fun - the children would have a great time! And, there's food for everyone! Typical German food like saurbraten, kraut, red cabbage, spaetzle, etc. As well as common foods like baked chicken, different types of hot dogs/sausages, salads, and desserts! Everyone is happy there!

Another vote for Chef Mickeys. The atmoshere is very festive and it is great for kids. It is a little on the pricey side, but it is worth it. I can't wait to eat there again in January.

I have to vote for Liberty Tree Tavern. The evening dinner is 'regular' food- and it is all very, very good. Menu here:

Two weeks ago we had apple crisp instead of the dessert listed.

My second choice would be the Garden Grill- good, but not as good as LTT. Menu here:

The catfish was so-so, as were the grilled veggies. Everything else was pretty good.

If you have read any of my other comments on this board then you know I am pretty tough on dining- and I thought LTT was an exceptional value. My two boys (12&13) ate more here than anywhere else- I thought they were going to cut us off j/k. The characters are great, and what better place to step into after dinner than the MK for a parade and fireworks The GG is also good- but not on par with LTT.

If by 'slow day' you mean out of the parks, then I would pick either O'hanas or Chef Mickey's. The food is mediocre at both IMO, but the 'magic' is there and there are lots of choices for picky eaters.

Good food and magic don't mix well at most 'event' dinners- but LTT is an exception.

I'd also vote for LTT or Chef Mickey's. But for something really special, I'd go for Rose & Crown and try to get an outside table. We were there in May and had a 7:30 PS which we showed up for about 10 minutes early and told them that we'd wait for an outside table. You can have a long, enjoyable dinner there. We started with appitizers (fruit & cheese plate for the kids and a great mushroom dish for DH and myself). We all had entrees (my kids love the cottage pie, basically mashed potatoes and ground beef) and then we had dessert. By then, we had a ringside seat for Illuminations. My DDs had a special kids drink (Shirley Temple) in a glow in the dark glass.

Our vote is for Teppanyaki in Epcot. Your kids will love watching the chef prepare the food in front of them and should enjoy the meal, even if picky eaters. LOL

I would vote for either Chef Mickeys or Ohanas. We had a blast at both on our last trip.

Here are some places that we all enjoy...
Sci-fi, the Garden Grill, Chef Mickeys, Rainforest Cafe. My boys enjoy these places the most.

My vote is for 'Ohana's - it's our family's favorite! They do have child items available for picky eaters. You just need to ask your server what is available.

"Special" ultimately "Disney" meals for families with picky eaters:

1. HDDR (it's a splurge, but a dinner show, not just a meal, our very favorite dining event in WDW, maybe in all the world)
2. Cinderella's Royal Table - breakfast in the castle, family style, Cinderella & friends
3. Chef Mickey's at Contemporary - buffet, Mickey & friends
4. 'Ohana - Polynesian Resort, family style, games for kids but no characters
5. Liberty Tree Tavern - MK, family style, Mickey & friends
6. Garden Grill - Epcot, family style, Mickey & friends
7. Cinderella's Gala Fest at Grand Floridian, buffet, Cindy, Prince & some friends
8. Crystal Palace - MK, buffet, Pooh & friends

All restaurants offer kids menus and alternate items for pickey eaters.
