I already have a ADR for CRT, but was wondering if its worth 2TS credits. Is it really worth it or is the one at Epcot equally as good for 1TS credit?

The Princess Storybook Breakfast at Akershus, in my opinion, has better food, the princess interaction is on a par with CRT, and the price is lower, whether you are paying OOP or using the dining plan. What you don't get, of course, is the Castle location. Or the wand/sword and wishing star that come with the CRT meals. And it's Belle vs. Cinderella for the photo op.

We always seem to end up going to both, but CRT is almost entirely driven by the fact that it's in the Castle. Just like with real estate: location, location, location. If you don't care about eating in the Castle, the Akershus meal is better all around, I think.

If you have never eaten in the castle before, then I say yes it is definitely worth the 2 credits. Not sure what time of day you are going, but we have only been there for breakfast (trying dinner in September) and think the food is o.k. at best, but the princess interaction and the feeling of being in Cinderella's castle makes up for it. Our personal favorite princess meal is at Akershus. We only go for breakfast, and the food there is outstanding (love the cheesy potatoes) and the princess interaction is actually better IMHO. Akershus is a must do :goodvibes

I have done both. In both CRT and Akershus you get a photo included, you get to see princesses, and you get imo roughly the same quality of food.(Askerhus might lose by a little on the food, I wonder what others think). We hate to choose between the 2 venues, both are really nice experiences. But when it comes right down to it, the Castle is the Castle, and nothing compares to that. The theming is just at another level, and they make much more of a "show" out of the meal, if you know what I mean. In my personal opinion, CRT is not to be missed, it is worth the 2 TS credits, and if you have to choose, I would absolutely choose CRT.

I have a breakfast reservation for Crt, but my little ones are not morning people so I was thinking of changing to Akershus for dinner. Then that would free up a credit for another dinner.

I've done both. I would definitely choose CRT over Akershus. I've done dinner at CRT and breakfast at Akershus. I'd say the dinner is worth 2 TS. Dining in the castle is very magical, and I thought the food was great. The breakfast at Akershus just wasn't worth the money to us and the setting just wasn't as special as the castle.

If you haven't eaten in the castle before-I agree w/pp. It is a neat experience. Food is good-not the greatest.
We have eaten at the castle twice, Norway once, will be trying 1900 park fare this time around.
I'm sure my dd will be talking about how we didn't do the castle on the flight home~she's 11. :)

ps-tip is included in that one, so that is a plus as well!

good thread. I am considering both also. so if CRT is everyone's pick do you suggest dinner or breakfast what is different at each time???????

we have never done bkfst, just dinner. So I can't really compare. We happen to be in the castle for the fireworks-quite magical!!

CRT and ASK are alot alike in my opinion. They both are a castle setting. CRT is just on a "grander" scale. If you have never done CRT b4, then this is what I would do.

The food is similar. THe princess experience is similar. I believe you get a free photo w/ each one.

The main difference to me is the price...CRT costs more and has a more "castle" setting. ASK is like a small castle so it provides a similar expereince.

ASK has a buffet for hte appetizer portion and they bring your actual meal to the table. At CRT, the bring everything to you ( if that matters).... :goodvibes

oooooh! You can see the fireworks from the catsle! I didn't even think of that.

On another thread , another poster mentioned that you can only see about 10% of the fireworks from inside the castle....just thought Id pass that along...

Eating in the castle just gives you a magical feel. My son loved eating in the castle. We have done breakfast but now they have princessess for dinner, we are going to try dinner time. If your kids are not morning I would change it to dinner time. Its worth it to eat there once in a lifetime.

Of course now there are no dinner times available at this late date. Only a 4:55 on the date of our arrival and I don't think I want to rush it. So, the kiddos will have to make our breakfast time for CRT. I'll let them sleep in the rest of the week.

Is it pretty much guaranteed that it's Belle? I really hope so because that is DD's favorite. She will be 3 when we go and she drags around this ratty Belle doll all the time, dresses in Belle nightgowns, etc and I would much rather have the photo of her and Belle.

I have done CRT breakfast 2 times, Akershus Breakfast once and lunch once.

CRT Breakfast is a MUST do for us!! We will ALWAYS go there for an early ADR. For one thing, we get into the park before opening and there is something magical about being there all "alone". I have some amazing photos of DD infront of the castle without anyone else around! The whole atmosphere at the castle is just spectacular! It is something to be experienced that is for sure!!

Akershus Breakfast was your standard character breakfast with princesses instead of Mickey. One plus is the photo with Belle at the entrace (which is free). Getting into World Showcase before park opening does not have many perks, so that is something to consider (you have to walk all the way to Norway and then all the way back to Future World before you can start "doing" anything). We probably would not do breakfast here again, but there were no complaints, it just was pretty standard.

Akershus lunch is very cool...but...it is Norwegian food. Since that is my background I really enjoyed it. DH and DD liked it, but were not as thrilled as I was. Again, you get the free photo with Belle, so it is nice.

I guess it comes down to what you are looking for - Princesses or Magic.

Good Luck!!

Amy
