I'm getting ready to make our ADRs for our January trip, and am trying to pick out the best princess experience for dd. It is the part of the trip she is most looking forward to!

We will be on the dining plan, so I'd sort of like to avoid using two ts credits for cinderella's castle, but I'll do it if dd will be missing out. :rotfl:

so,
1) askerhaus -- the menu looks a little weird to me?
2) Cinderella's table -- have to use two credits, but get to eat in the castle
3) 1900 park place -- dinner, right?
4) the fancy expensive tea party at GF

maybe I should reserve more than one and then decide later? Where will dd get the most princess attention and the rest of enjoy our meal?
THANKS!

I'm interested in responses to this as well. We are going in Sept and our 2 DDs love the princesses. Last Sept we went to CRT breakfast - it was only 1 credit then. Our DDs loved it because they got to see all the princesses - they all came to our table and spent plenty of time. However, my DH and I were not impressed with the food. We would not do it using 2 credits. We are going to WDW again this Sept and will be there on my oldest DDs birthday (she will be 9), and we've booked dinner at 1900 Park Fare. princess:

We did this as well for gd5. Except we did lunch. This time we are going to 1900 Park Fair instead. Doing the castle was great when it was 1TS and it was well worth it for the "I ate at the castle" experience but the food wasn't anything great for us. I don't think it will be something we do again with the new pricing. So, we are hoping to get better food this time with Cinderella and of course her Prince Charming!

We also did the Norway breakfast last time, again the experience was great but the food was so so. We saw Belle, Snow White, Jasmine and I believe Aurora. I would have to double check the pictures. Again, we probably won't do twice unless I feel like we need to see Snow White!

We have a CRT lunch ressie for our Dec. trip. This will be our 1st time to experience it as an official princess meal. I didn't have to worry about TS credits because we stay off site. :duck: I did have to pay the $122 in advance when I made the ADR. But, oh how I enjoy the Major Domo's favorite pie. Worth every penny!

I love all the princess meals and since I have 2 DD's I have an excuse to go :goodvibes

Princess Story Book- We have only done the breakfast. We have done it a few times and I love it. Most reviews I have read say they food isn't very good but I think its great. I especially love the potato stuff....YUM!! I really wanted to do lunch so we could see Ariel but I nothing of that menu appeals to me. :guilty:
Princesses we have seen there: Cinderella, Jasmine, Mulan, Snow White, Belle, Sleeping Beauty, and Mary Poppins.

CRT- I have only done breakfast here. It is very cool getting to eat in the castle. The food tastes good but is nothing out of the ordinary. I definitely prefer the PSB food.
Princesses and others we have seen there: Cinderella, Fairy Godmother, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Prince Charming, Peter Pan, and Mary Poppins.

1900 Park Fare- I haven't done this since it has become just a Cinderella meal however the menu looks the same as the last time I ate there. We think this is the best buffet ever!!! Also, the characters seemed to spend more time with us there than anywhere else.

GF tea- We haven't done this one. Look like fun though.

I say if you can't decide then do them all. We are doing all three of those meals on our next trip!! YEA!!!

Hope that helps!!

I`ve did all 3.......................norway for breakfast and dinner (breakfast is much better food) although cinderella is usually not at breakfast (she is however there at dinner , sometimes , but the food is norwegian and we did not care for the adult meals. Also, Ariel is there in the lobby for pictures b4 your meal.
The castle for breakfast is the most incredible thing ive ever been to!
The food is brought to you and you can ask for more and they will bring it. And FYI they take a priceless picture of your kid and Cinderella and it comes in a beautiful storybook card with wallet sizes also included in the price or points you will use on the meal. Other princesses come around while you are eating (we saw belle, snow white, mary poppins and Alice )
1900 park faire in the grand floridian only has Cinderella, Prince Charming and Suzy and Perla (the mice) at dinner , which is a buffet and very good food. You are also greeted by the fairy godmother for pictures in the lobby b4 your meal.
whichever you decide on, it will be magical! Its disney, after all , right?

We had Lunch at Akershus and really loved it! We like to try different foods in Epcot, so we enjoyed everything. We saw Ariel in her gown, Belle in her blue dress, Aurora, Mulan and Jasmine. It was a great experience!

We went to 1900 PF for breakfast and the buffet was wonderful, so I'm sure it will be great at dinner, too! We loved the character interactions and DD was really into Mary Poppins! Mad Hatter and Alice were also lots of fun and we didn't see them anywhere else during our trip.

When we ate dinner at CRT in Jan. it was still 1 TS credit and there were no characters involved except Cinderella in the lobby for photos. It was one of the best meals we had all week, but I am pretty sure the menu changed since we were there. The castle is beautiful and it is fun to be there, but I am not sure it is worth 2 credits.

The highlight of DD's trip was the Perfectly Princess Tea Party at the GF. It was magical from beginning to end. We had lots of time and great photos with Aurora and the hostess, Rose Petal. The little girls dance with Aurora and have sweet little tea party sandwiches and cake. They receive a crown, an Aurora doll- American Girl size, a thank you note for attending, a birth certificate for their doll and scrapbooking paper and stickers. It was worth every penny- my little princess was in awe!

We did lunch at Akershus and loved it food was different but really good- we saw Ariel, Belle, Aurora< Jasmine and Cinderella- what luck!! :cheer2:

We did lunch at Epcot Norway last summer and my dd4 loved it - the princesses were great (Ariel, Jasmine, Belle in her blue dress, Aurora, and yes Cinderella). My kids (dd4, ds4, and ds9) LOVED the kid's appetizer platter and food. The adult food was abit different but I really liked the potato dish (can't remember the name).

We were the first table seated for lunch and also the first table that the princesses came to and the princesses made my dd feel very special.

We did lunch at Akershus Royal Banquet 2 weeks ago. As soon as we walked in, they had a photo/autograph session with Ariel in her gown, but a CM Photographer.

They seated us, informed us of the menu and the buffet style salad, fruit, bread and cheese table. We were there for lunch, but we had the menu for dinner. Anyway, I had the short ribs, and I gotta tell you, it was good. My other family members had the other items in the menu, and they said it was good for them too.

The other princesses who visited the tables were: Cinderella, Jasmine, Belle and Aurora. They were all nice, asked my neice (2) and nephew (8) questions, as they were signing their books, and posed for pictures (and we took several pictures - grandpa, dad, and auntie had cameras.)

I wanted to try the CRT and the Gala Feast, but I had no luck, I started booking only 6 weeks ahead of our scheduled time and they were booked. I kept calling till the last minute in any event there was a cancellation, but no luck.

But overall, Akershus had good food, and the princesses they had there were very friendly and nice

We just went in April - our first trip so we did 3 Princess meals for our 5 year old daughter.

Epcot - Norway (Akershus) for Breakfast & the food was really good. They had Belle in the lobby for pictures & try to sell them to you for $30 - so take your own pictures! We also saw Princess Aurora, Jasmine, Snow White, & Mulan. Price was around $65-$70 for 3 of us.

Magic Kingdom - Inside the Castle for lunch. They take your picture w/Cinderella in the lobby (that is prepaid part of the meal now along w/a wand or sword for your children - photo package is 8x10 of child w/Cinderella, 4 wallets & a 8x10 of the Castle) The food was very different, but good. We also saw Princess Aurora, Snow White, Mary Poppins & Wendy (from Peter Pan). Price was over $110 for 3 of us. Once in a lifetime lunch, never again for the price & the food was nothing to rave about!

Grand Floridian - 1900 Park Fare for dinner. They had the Fairy Godmother in the lobby that you can take pictures with (no Disney Photographer's here, nor inside for dinner). Inside once seated you can eat & Cinderella, Prince Charming & Perla & Suzie (mice) went around to meet & great the kids. I enjoyed the food alot. A huge selection on the buffet & even a kids buffet. My daughter was completely taken by Prince Charming, the kid even blushed!! Price was over $80 for the 3 of us.

It all depends on your price range (but you have the meal plan) and schedualing. We had to make sure we were at certain parks on certain days, etc. We even had to park hop one day to get to our lunch at MK & it took alot out of MGM that day, but that was the only day I could get the reservations.

I wouldn't do any again, but that was our first trip & we wanted to make sure she saw the princesses. The only other time we could have seen the Princess was in Toon Town, there were 3 & it was 1 1/2 hours to wait! Other wise we only saw Ariel (in the grotto), Princess Jasmine & Belle around in Epcot. Otherwise it was all the meals!

Enjoy your trip & good luck deciding.

DD and I ate at the Castle two weeks ago today. We had breakfast because I thought that wa the safest meal for us. I really liked the meal and ate most of mine. DD ate most of hers too. It was pretty traditional...scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potato casserole thingy, stuffed french toast. Before the actual meal, they brought out fresh fruit and pastries. Our service was excellent too. It was very neat to be in the castle, especially since I've always wanted to go inside! DD really enjoyed seeing the characters (Cinderella, Aurora, Snow White, Fairy Godmother, Wendy). They each came over to the table, except Cindy of course, signed her book, and posed for a picture. I did feel they were quite rushed. Don't get me wrong, they were nice and all, but I felt very much like they rushed around signed, smiled, and were on to the next table. We had breakfast at the Crystal Palace two days later and there was no comparison. The Pooh characters paid so much more attention to DD and spent a lot more time at our table. This surprised me because they can't even talk! The neat part of our breakfast in the castle that I hadn't read before was the "Wishing Ceremony." When we arrived, DD was given a wand and a wishing star. The star lights up when you twist the bottom. At a point, all the characters guided the kids to use their wands (swords for the boys) and make their wish. At that point, the ceiling in the castle sparkles with little lights too! Very cute! DD still has her wand, star, and picture with Cindy as a souvenier.

I'm still undecided as to whether or not to do it again. I guess it will depend on how much DD is still into princesses. I would be willing to breakfast at Norway if the characters actually spend more time with the kids.

thanks y'all. ooh, I can't decide and I am making my call tomorrow to get the ADRs. Maybe will do more than one..

We've done the CRT (lunch) and 1900 PF (dinner).

Some of it depends upon your schedule: are you taking any days off from the park?

1900 PF - On our 'days off' we do 1900 PF as an 'activity' - we schedule early dinner (to avoid the wait and get kids to bed since they are usually exhausted). The buffet is very good - sometimes quality differs if the food has been sitting there awhile. Good character interaction.

CRT - *loved* this. The magic wand, the 'wishing ceremony', being 'inside' the castle. My girls (3 and 5) talked about this for a long time. We scheduled a late lunch (1:30ish) and it was a cool respite from the crowds outside. We use early morning time as a chance to ride rides and avoid crowds, so I didn't want to waste that in the castle. We thought the food was very good - the plated appetizers were great to tide hungry children over (and the adult apps were yummy). Our food choices were all tasty - better than I expected since I expect 'group' food and this was better. We were done about 2:30 and found a perfect spot to watch the 3:00 parade - and were refreshed doing so. We will do this plan again.

good luck! I would recommend making multiple reservations - when you get there, plans (EMHs) and weather may affect your days and you may need to make changes on the fly. We've had multiple resies and been able to pick and choose our days instead of our schedule dictating that.

I second the Askerhaus in Norway. We did breakfast there. It was better than the castle. I would never do the castle again after doing this. princess:

yay! I just reserved lunch at CRT and breakfast at Askerhaus! so excited.

I think I might pay out of pocket for CRT and save my table service credits for the rest of the trip.

We ate at Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner just a few weeks ago. We really enjoyed it, however, Cinderella was not at the dinner. It was the Fairy Godmother and her two mice instead. That was pretty disappointing. We did get our family picture made with Cinderella before Dinner while waiting downstairs. We rec'd an 8x10, 3- 4x6's and an 8x10 of the castle, no wand or sword, but the pictures were included with the price of the meal. The food, in my opinion, was great! I had a corn and crab soup appetizer that was wonderful, and prime rib for dinner (and don't forget the pretzel rolls - yum). I would definitely do it again - just eating in the castle made it worth it to our family.
