I bought the deluxe Wii U bundle (with Mario and Luigi) at Target today. 299.99 minus 5% for the Red Card and 5% for pharmacy rewards (plus tax, though).

Congrats! Hoping to do that by the end of the week. Just have to find time to get over there. We have been crazy busy lately. I don't need it until DS's birthday (22nd), and I kind of think if I buy it too early I will spill the beans. I may just do a normal Target run to sign up for the RedCard and wait until closer to his birthday to buy the WiiU. I am the worst secret keeper ever.

Well, it wasn't on sale except for my Red Card/pharmacy discounts, and they had several at my store. I am prepared to return it if they run a gift card special in the coming weeks, but I feel better having it. Now to hide it until Christmas . . .

Target also has iTunes cards for 10% off, so they were close to 20% off with the Red Card and pharmacy rewards. Christmas shopping is well underway now.

My mother-in-law does not shop at Mejier, but received a "20% off your general merchandise total" coupon in the mail. She passed it on to me and I was able to buy the Wii U bundle with the Mario and Luigi games. The original price was $299.99 and it took $60 off, so the total came to $239.99 plus tax. I was happy with that! So, if you have a Meijer locally, it might be worth asking friends and neighbors if they have that coupon Also, in the past, Meijer has offered "Santa bucks" as the holidays get closer - they are something like "$5 off your $50 purchase" and go up in dollar amounts - just something else to think about!

Got my WiiU and RedCard today! Also, Target has all of their video games buy 2 get 1 free. Got 3 WiiU games for $100 and 3 3DS games for $80. Had to ring the games up separately by system to get the $50 game free, so be careful if you get 6 or more games. I am a happy camper today!

I saw that, too, but decided we really wanted to surprise DS on his birthday, so we went ahead and picked it up today. He really never gets any presents prior to Thanksgiving since we live out of state from all of our family, so this will be a great surprise for him. Plus I want to play it ASAP myself. He will get a few of the games we bought today for his birthday party over Thanksgiving, and the others at Christmas. Super Mario 3D World comes out on his birthday, so I will have one of the grandparents snag that one to give him on Thanksgiving Day. That is the game I am most excited for. Now...if they would just make a new Super Mario Galaxy game, I'd be all set.

It's funny that you mention that, because when brought the Wii U in the house, DH asked what it was for. I was like "Christmas" and he lol'ed and said "I highly doubt you'll be able to wait that long!"

Well, DH and I talked it over and decided to buy the Mario/Luigi version today. Didn't save anything, but neither one of us wanted to do the Black Friday thing. We live so far from everywhere, we'd spend half of the savings in gas driving to the store. Did pick up a pre-owned Nintendoland game for $15 at gamestop. I guess that's the game that teaches you how to use the system and it was 50% off compared to new. I'd like to pretend it's for DD, but we all know it's for me.

Me, too, and I returned the one I bought a few weeks ago at Target. I had 5% off with the Red Card and 5% with pharmacy rewards. But I might buy it again at 20% off if the December 1-7 coupon will work - I think it only excludes Xbox One and PS4 consoles. So I might be returning the one I bought today!

I did the same thing yesterday. It was still a painful purchase!!

My Target was out of them on the floor (they only have room for 2 or 3) but the guy said they had a TON of them in the back, still, so if you don't see it, make sure to ask!!

AFAIK, the 8GB (White) models are no longer being sold in retail stores -- I would still recommend the 32GB, as that 8GB will be "eaten" by much of the mandatory software that's supposed to be a part of the Wii U.
